Amid employees working from home as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, director Jon Watts has shared a parody image of Spider-Man: Work From Home.
Spider-Man practices social distancing in Spider-Man: Work From Home parody art. As the coronavirus continues to spread around the world and lead to more cautionary measures, people are being advised to practice social distancing by staying home as often as possible and avoiding areas with large crowds. The coronavirus outbreak has already led to what feels like countless alterations to daily life, from movie theaters being closed down to travel being restricted. The entertainment industry hasn't been left untouched either, with movies delayed and productions being shut down.
One source of happiness during this uncertain time could be the news that the MCU's Spider-Man 3 is expected to begin production this summer (barring any public health issues). Star Tom Holland confirmed this last week to the delight of Spider-Man fans everywhere. Last year, Spider-Man's MCU future was threatened when Disney and Sony faltered on new negotiations that would allow Spidey to remain in the MCU. Matters were cleared up eventually, however, and Spider-Man is currently contracted for the MCU's Spider-Man 3 as well as one additional MCU film, though Sony head Tom Rothman still wants Spider-Man to stay in the MCU for longer.
Jon Watts, director of all the MCU's solo Spider-Man films, posted the parody art to Instagram. In it, Spider-Man is shown working at a desk while dressed in his pre-Tony Stark super suit. Yes, the goggles are included. Watts used the art to say, "Stay safe everyone!!" You can check it out below:
The Work From Home title could fool fans since it fits well with Spider-Man's previous solo adventures, which were titled Homecoming and Far From Home. While the MCU's Spider-Man 3 has yet to receive an official title, fans are expecting it to follow the theme. Much of the details surrounding the MCU's Spider-Man 3 are unknown, but Holland did confirm that Zendaya would be returning as Michelle "MJ" Jones. It's expected that the film will pick up from Far From Home's post-credits cliffhanger.
With much of the world currently tucking themselves inside, film studios are looking for ways to adjust their practices to cope with the drastic changes. Universal just announced they would be releasing some of their 2020 movies on demand in light of movie theaters closing down, and Disney put Frozen II on Disney+ months earlier than initially planned. It's important that people stay safe and be mindful of other around them. Hopefully the sight of Spider-Man chilling at home will prompt others to do the same.
