"10 years ago I was a kid failing my way through high school in Rochester, NY, with nothing but a dream to escape to La La Land and achieve everything I had always dreamed of," he captioned a recent Instagram post. "It takes ten years to make an overnight success and although I may not be where I want to be or where I know I’m capable of being, I’ve definitely made a hell of a lot of progress."
