Ben Winston, executive producer of the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, teased the performance himself. He told ET, "It's an amazing performance. It's genuinely like, magical. I was grinning ear to ear. Her and her team have got the most ambitious concept for her performance, but it's brilliant and it's beautiful and I think it's gonna be one of the moments of the night, no doubt."
Taylor Swift did not disappoint when the camera shot began on her face and panned out to a whimsical woodland that fans have grown to associate with the Folklore/Evermore era. She performed "Cardigan," "Willow," and "August." The ambiance had fans lamenting the tour that could have been and many hope still can be. "Taylor Swift's performance just got me hungry for what the set and ambiance will be like for her next tour," one fan tweeted.
Other fans noticed smaller Easter eggs. For example, many fans noted that she was barefoot throughout the performance, making her seem even more at home and herself than in any era before. Some noticed a twirl during "Willow" that reminded them of Speak Now. There's no doubt eagle-eyed Swifties will be analyzing the performance frame-for-frame for more little tidbits in the days ahead.
