WWE is nothing short of controversies. Whether it's Vince McMahon forcing Lita and Edge to make love on television or the death of Owen Hart, the company has had its fair share of PR issues in its existence.

One such incident happened on May 5, 2002, after WWE did the Insurrection pay-per-view and flew back from Great Britain to the United States. WWE rented the whole plane for the crew and provided wrestlers the supply of unlimited alcohol, which caused a whole ton of problems for everyone during this ride. So, what's the story behind this Plane Ride From Hell?
Brock Lesnar & Curt Hennig Had A Take Down Tussle
For starters, a full and open bar on a flight filled with wrestlers is probably a bad idea. Not only did it cause havoc at 30,000 feet in the air, but it also resulted in a sexual harassment lawsuit, the firings of many wrestlers, and many other things.
Curt Hennig and Scott Hall started the journey by spurting wrestlers with shaving cream. It didn't harm anyone, but this was only the beginning as things got out of control real quick afterward.

Henning and Brock Lesnar got into an argument over who's the best amateur wrestler between the two. It started out as a friendly take-down tussle. Both wrestlers were pretty competitive and weren't going to let the other win. And it was their competitive nature that almost burst open the emergency exit door after Lesnar shoved him on that side. Their fight got so intense that Triple H, Fit Finlay, and Paul Heyman had to separate them from each other.
Stewardesses Got Sexually Harassed & Goldust Sang For His Ex-Wife
When this was sorted out, Ric Flair came out with nothing but his robe. Then, he flashed to the stewardesses and allegedly forced their hands on his crotch and prevented one of them, Heidi Doyle, to leave from the back galley and continued to sexually harass her.
The air hostesses also claimed that Scott Hall was also one of the people to make sexual moves on them. Although Jim Ross claimed that Hall wasn't involved in any of the major incidents during the flight. Hall did consume too much alcohol during the journey and he passed out very early into the flight.
Goldust was also on the flight and so was his ex-wife Terri Runnels. He managed to get hold of the flight's public address system and serenaded Terri until Jim Ross stepped in and stopped him from further embarrassing his ex-wife.
Michael Hayes Lost His Mullet
Justin Credible also told the story of Michael Hayes almost urinating on Linda McMahon during the flight. He was so drunk that he thought he was in the restroom before someone stepped in and took him away. Hayes also thought it would be a great idea to punch JBL (known as Bradshaw at that time) to the forehead. JBL already had a cut there because of his match against X-Pac at Inserucction and Hayes' punch opened his wound again. JBL then knocked him out.

And while he lay knocked out on the floor, X-Pac got hold of a pair of scissors and cut off his ponytail. Everyone enjoyed this because nobody really liked Hayes. Hayes didn't realize that his mullet is gone until he was going through customs.
The Aftermath Resulted In Some Firings & A Lawsuit
After the crew landed in the United States, WWE posted a blog on their website addressing the incident and promised that something like this would never occur again in the future.
Mr. Perfect was fired for goading Lesnar into a fight with him.WWE also didn't enjoy the love songs that Rhodes sang for his ex-wife so they kept him in the doghouse and also didn't renew his contract in 2003.
While Ross said that Hall didn't do anything major in the whole journey, he was still fired alongside others due to his drinking issues and poor shape. The Nature Boy wasn't punished at all by WWE for some reason, while others were.
Two years later, the two flight attendants (Taralyn Cappellano and Heidi Doyle) filed a lawsuit against WWE. They claimed that Flair "flashed his nakedness, spinning his penis around." Goldust and Hall's name was also in the lawsuit. While Flair did claim that the allegations were wrong, WWE later made a settlement that aroused more suspicions.
Overall, the whole journey was indeed a Plane Ride From Hell and fortunately, nothing like this ever happened again.
