The Ahsoka finale has arrived, and the fate of dark Jedi Padawan Shin Hati has been revealed. As one of the series' most popular characters, Ivanna Sahkno's Shin is one that viewers have latched on to in Ahsoka season 1. From the mystery that shrouds her backstory to the uncertainty that lies ahead, Shin's place in the future of Star Wars is eagerly anticipated, especially as she considers the path of redemption.
In Ahsoka episode 7, Ray Stevenson's Baylan Skoll split from his apprentice, insisting that they had different desires to pursue. The Ahsoka season 1 ending revealed him standing among statues of the Mortis gods, most notably atop the hand of the Father. Meanwhile, Shin has also been stranded on Peridea, left with no master at her side nor any other allies to guide her. With plenty of paths set out in front of her, Ahsoka episode 8 has shown exactly which one Shin has taken, which could be very important come Ahsoka season 2 (if it happens).
Why Shin Hati Joins The Bandits On Peridea In Ahsoka's Finale
After being abandoned by her master and left behind by Grand Admiral Thrawn, Shin feels disillusioned - and all she wants is to belong somewhere. She knows she can be a leader to the bandits on Peridea, as she's already done it before in Ahsoka episode 7. They'll answer the call of her orange lightsaber, which she ignites to bring them together under her blade. This is also Shin's easiest option at this point, since she doesn't consider herself "good" enough to accept Ahsoka's offer for redemption. At least she knows how the bandits perceive her, and Shin can maintain more control there than she can in the uncertainty of the path Ahsoka's offered her.
Is Shin Hati's Story Done? What's Her Star Wars Future?
While Shin's story doesn't necessarily factor into the larger picture of Ahsoka, she remains on the same planet as Ahsoka and Sabine. There's no doubt she'll return, even if she simply acts as a thorn in their side. The offer Ahsoka's made her for redemption is also still standing, and whether Shin returns to take it or not is still left to be seen. There's hope for Shin, though what exactly she'll be up to with the bandits at her side remains unknown.
How To Watch Star Wars Movies In Order
Here is how to watch all Star Wars movies and TV shows chronologically and in order of release, and how each fits into the Star Wars timeline. The ending of thefinale perfectly sets up Ahsoka season 2, and with Shin left behind on Peridea along with Baylan, Ahsoka, and Sabine, there's no doubt her story will continue. Baylan is clearly seeking to connect with the Mortis gods in some way, while Ahsoka will take the opportunity to advance Sabine's training and strengthen her Padawan's trust in the Force. Until that point, there's not much else for them to do on the desolate planet, which gives Shin plenty of time to reflect on Ahsoka's offer and all else she needs to ponder on her own. Exactly what role Shin will have to play in it all is left to be seen, but Star Wars hasn't seen the last of Shin - especially in Ahsoka.
