Walker star Keegan Allen shares a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of season 4. First airing in 2021 on The CW, the crime drama show serves as a reboot of the popular 1990s show, Walker, Texas Ranger, with Jared Padalecki taking over the lead role from action legend Chuck Norris. Season 3 of the show concluded in May 2023, with season 4 confirmed not long after with an expected summer 2024 release window.

Now, as the wait for Walker season 4 continues, Allen, who stars in the show as Liam, reveals on his Instagram story that filming has started for the new batch of episodes. Check out a screenshot of the actor's story below:

The image features the core cast members of the show filming what appears to be a wedding scene, with Allen's caption reading: "First day back filming @thecwwalker season 4!"

What To Expect From Walker Season 4

While few details have been released regarding season 4's story, the Walker season 3 ending certainly sets up some exciting adventures to come. Most notably, this includes a case surrounding the Jackal, a dangerous killer from Walker's past. Cordell never actually solved his cold case involving the Jackal, meaning there's definitely some unfinished business there for the show's hero.

Also set to be further explored is Walker's relationship with Geri (Odette Annable), with the latter character having made a surprise comeback in the finale. As far as the Walker cast for season 4 goes, most major actors are expected to return, including Molly Hagan, Violet Brinson, Cale Kulley, Coby Bell, Mitch Pileggi, Jeff Pierre, and Ashley Reyes. The new season is likely to see several newcomers join the cast as well, though no big announcements have yet been made in this regard.

In terms of episode count, Walker season 4 is expected to feature a notable change. While Seasons 1 and 3 were 18 episodes and season 2 was 20, season 4 will consist of only 13 episodes. It's unclear, at the moment, whether the new season will be the show's last, but The CW parent company, Nexstar, has made a marked shift away from scripted content over the past few months. While Walker season 4 could end up being the show's last ride, it's already shaping up to be an exciting season of televsion.

Nextar purchased The CW in October 2022 and, in an effort to reduce losses, the network subsequently cancelled a handful of shows, including The Winchesters and Kung Fu.

Walker is The CW’s 2021 reboot of the ‘90s popular western Walker, Texas Ranger. The drama series was developed by Anna Fricke and stars Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, the titular Texas Ranger.
