Music is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. There is nothing and no one that music can’t encapsulate. Everyone enjoys the rhythm and music often sets the mood in any situation. In the recently ended Dallas Open, music caught an important personality. The Mayor of Dallas, Eric Johnson, was seen grooving to the music being played with his son in the match between John Isner and Wu Yibing.

The Dallas Open began on 6th February and ended on 12th February. It became a tournament that created history. The finals saw Wu Yibing emerging triumphant over John Isner. Yibing came back after he lost the first set and became the first Chinese player to win an ATP Tour title.

In between the final of the Dallas Open, Mayor Eric Johnson was visibly enjoying the game. In a recent tweet, a video showed him also enjoying the music at the match. At first, he was playing the drums by banging on the table in front of him. His son joined him as he saw his father enjoying and dancing to the music.

The Twitter user captioned the tweet, “The honorable Dallas Mayor Johnson playing the air drums with his son at the Dallas Open finals! That’s awesome. @Johnson4Dallas  @DALOpenTennis.”

Wu Yibing creates history at Dallas Open

After a thrilling three-set match, Wu Yibing became the first Chinese player to win an ATP Tour title. Yibing lost the first set 6-7. But he found his second wind and clinched victory in the last two sets with a score of 7-6, 7-6. Wu said at the trophy ceremony, “I made history here for my country and for my home. I’m very proud of myself and especially thanks to all the fans and my team who came here to support. I couldn’t do this without any of you guys.”

Even John Isner, who held match point twice, couldn’t help being impressed by Wu’s performance. “It’s like he plays every point the same, so definitely no nerves,” Isner said when asked about Wu’s performance. “He gets a ball to hit, he hits it, and on this court it’s hard to hit him a shot he is uncomfortable with… He is an unbelievable ballstriker and a very good talent.”
