Triple H has tweeted for the first time he underwent surgery following a cardiac event, thanking fans and those running NXT in his absence.
WWE broke the scary news earlier this month that Triple H had undergone surgery following a cardiac event, not sharing any further details. WWE's statement was shared on September 8, which is the last time Triple H was active on social media, barring one like the following day, suggesting whatever happened to The Game was unexpected.
Triple H Thanks Fans
Triple H has now tweeted for the first time since news of his surgery was revealed, thanking fans for the outpouring of support he has received while recovering. “I’ve been blown away by the outreach and support from so many people. I’m recovering, doing well, & deeply grateful for all the love in my life,” Triple H tweeted. He also thanked those working at NXT right now for keeping the show running smoothly in his absence.

“Especially grateful for @ShawnMichaels & all the Superstars & crew @WWENXT! (Steph and the girls loved the snacks!),” he added. It has been reported that Michaels, who has effectively become Triple H's number two at NXT in recent years, has been running the show while Triple H has been away. That's despite other reports that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard have been in control of the show since it morphed into NXT 2.0.
NXT 2.0
Speaking of which, Triple H hasn't actually been in attendance since NXT officially got its big makeover. This past Tuesday marked week two of NXT 2.0 and the colorful revamp has been receiving mixed reviews. A number of little-known stars have been making their debuts which is effectively what NXT is all about. However, many of the differences have been big ones that some fans are struggling to get on board with.
Triple H doesn't provide a timeline on his return, but simply signs off the tweet with see you soon. Although what happened hasn't been specified, it was likely pretty serious since it resulted in him needing heart surgery. Hopefully, he rests at home with his family for as long as he needs to in order to recover fully and doesn't come back into the NXT fold until he's well and truly ready.
