2021 was an excellent year for wrestling fans, as they were able to enjoy fantastic shows from various promotions around the world. WWE always delivers, AEW established itself as a world-class company, and obviously, we can't ignore the Japanese promotions, which are amazing as well.

Throughout the year, fans witnessed top-notch matches that took place at incredible PPVs. There were some PPVs so great that they will be remembered for a long time and will surely be watched over and over again. But the following 10 events stand out as the best wrestling pay-per-views of the year.

10 ROH Final Battle 2021

ROH Final Battle

Ring Of Honor will go through a reconceptualization, and Final Battle 2021 represented the end of an era. Besides the nostalgia, the PPV was excellent, with extraordinary matches.

The Briscoes became World Tag Team Champions after defeating The OGK in a mind-blowing match. Shane Taylor and Kenny King delivered a brutal Fight Without Honor match and Dragon Lee and Rey Horus put on an excellent show as well. The main event was a sensational ROH World Title match, in which Jonathan Gresham defeated Jay Lethal.

WrestleMania 37

WrestleMania 37 was a two-night event, certainly one night was better than the other, but overall, it was an exceptional PPV. There were a couple of matches that will go down in history as classics, both the match between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair and the Triple Threat match between Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and Edge.

Other great matches were Cesaro versus Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley against Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens against Sami Zayn, Sheamus versus Riddle and even Bad Bunny had an amazing performance.

8 AEW Double Or Nothing 2021

AEW Double Or Nothing 2021

Double Or Nothing 2021 featured nine matches, and the only match that disappointed was Cody Rhodes versus Anthony Ogogo. Otherwise, the PPV was awesome.

The best bout of the PPV was the Three-Way match for the AEW World Championship, in which Kenny Omega defeated Orange Cassidy and PAC. The Young Bucks retained the World Tag Team Titles in a terrific match against Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley and the Stadium Stampede match was insane.

NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam In Tokyo Dome

Although the opening match was one of the worst of the year in Japan, this PPV was pretty solid, with intense matches and good storylines.

Kazuchika Okada defeated Jeff Cobb in a very good match, the Dangerous Tekkers (Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.) defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (SANADA & Tetsuya Naito) in a tremendous match. Finally, in the main event, Shingo Takagi and Hiroshi Tanahashi delivered a five-star match.

6 Hana Kimura Memorial Matane

As the name suggests, this PPV was to pay tribute to Hana Kimura, a Japanese wrestler who committed suicide at the age of 22. The show was beautiful, very emotional, it seemed that all the performers gave their best in honor of Kimura.

There were only four matches, but they were all spectacular, especially the tag team match in which ASUKA, Mio Momono, Natsupoi, and Syuri defeated Hazuki, Kagetsu, Death Yama-san, and Konami, it was a masterpiece.

5 WWE Money In The Bank 2021

Money In The Bank 2021 was an excellent pay-per-view, with amazing matches, a loud crowd, and a surprise return, something fans love.

Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley delivered one of the best women's matches of 2021 and Big E won the fantastic Money In The Bank Ladder match. In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Edge in a flawless match, and to top it all off, John Cena returned to confront The Tribal Chief.

Usually, WWE shows in Saudi Arabia suck, but finally, WWE produced an amazing show. This PPV is easily WrestleMania caliber. There were nine matches and all were at least decent.

Edge defeated Seth Rollins in a Hell In A Cell match, which is a contender for match of the year, Big E successfully defended the WWE Title against Drew McIntyre in a terrific match. Becky Lynch prevailed in an exciting Triple Threat match against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks, and the clash of the titans between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar did not disappoint.

3 AEW Full Gear 2021

AEW Full Gear 2021

Full Gear 2021 was headlined by Kenny Omega and Adam Page, who finally faced off one-on-one for the AEW World Title. Hangman was the winner after an absolutely epic match. But that wasn't all, as this PPV had other extraordinary matches like CM Punk versus Eddie Kingston and MJF against Darby Allin.

This PPV would have been perfect had it not been for the terrible Ten Man Tag Team Minneapolis Street Fight and the disappointing tag team match between Cody Rhodes and PAC and Andrade El Idolo and Malakai Black.

Stardom 10th Anniversary

Stardom continues to produce good shows and create female superstars. This all-women's PPV featured six outstanding matches.

If we make a top 10 of the best women's matches of 2021, from this PPV you can take into account three matches, Mayu Iwatani versus Yoshiko, Utami Hayashishita against Saya Kamitani, and of course the hair vs. hair match between Tam Nakano and Giulia, which was a masterpiece.

Fans witnessed one of the best Steel Cage matches in history, in which The Lucha Brothers defeated The Young Bucks to win the World Tag Team Championship. CM Punk had his first match in seven years, Kenny Omega and Christian Cage put on a phenomenal show and Britt Baker and Kris Statlander shined as well. In addition, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole made their AEW debuts.

All Out 2021 was not only the best wrestling PPV of 2021, it was one of the best in the history of sports entertainment, being compared even to WrestleMania 17.
