Tony Khan is a happy man today in AEW. Taking to Twitter to promote tonight's AEW Full Gear pay-per-view, Khan boasted how proud he is that the gate for the event topped the $1 million mark for the first time in the company's history. He tweeted, "TONIGHT's #AEWFullGear PPV is officially over a $1 million live gate! It's the first time Full Gear has ever topped $1 million in tickets! Tonight's @AEW's 4th straight PPV over $1 million live gate, 5th time total in 2022 (including Grand Slam). See you TONIGHT for Full Gear!"

The post is flooded with comments, both good and bad. Some were congratulating AEW, while others were pointing out that WWE still makes over $100 million for a show in Saudi. One follower event noted that if MJF didn't win the title they would never watch AEW again. Others were asking if AEW was breaking even on the show, suggesting that just because the company was pulling in $1 million for an event, doesn't mean they're actually profitable.

I Guess AEW Didn't Need Punk?

This is certainly big news for AEW, especially considering this card is minus CM Punk, who is rumored to be leaving AEW and the company is potentially attempting to buy out his contract. One of the big claims that Punk made was that he was responsible for the highest gates in AEW history. He's nowhere near this card on Saturday so he'll no longer be able to make that claim.
