On the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho was confronted by a number of members of the Jericho Appreciation Society. It follows a trend of the group's members being highly dissatisfied with Jericho’s actions over the last couple of weeks regarding the status of his relationship with Don Callis. They have felt like Jericho has not been showing the same support and appreciation for them as they have for him. After assembling in 2022, the group have partaken in a number of different feuds and storylines, be it as a group or individually. It seems as if the Jericho Appreciation Society may not be together much longer after the events of the last few weeks, and that would probably be the best choice.
The Origins Of The Jericho Appreciation Society
Before analyzing the events that the Jericho Appreciation Society are going through now, it is important to see how the group initially emerged. Chris Jericho destroyed his own initial group, The Inner Circle, in 2022. The JAS was born from the ashes of The Inner Circle, as Jericho sought to recruit wrestlers who would truly appreciate his contributions to professional wrestling and show him the respect he thought he was not getting from The Inner Circle. Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara's allegiance to Jericho carried into the JAS from The Inner Circle. He recruited Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Tay Melo, and Anna Jay.

They embraced the title of “sports entertainers” and separated themselves from the rest of the AEW roster. It was something which was meant to draw heat from the AEW fanbase. It produced some great matches and storylines. It was also a beneficial formula. It took Jericho, an established name in professional wrestling, and allowed him to help younger talent in the business. This was seen in both The Inner Circle and in the JAS. This is something that AEW has done very well throughout its existence. It has helped and allowed for new paths to be taken for all the members of the JAS. However, now is the perfect time for them to go off on their own.

Does Chris Jericho Appreciate The JAS?
As mentioned, over the last few weeks members of the group have been suggesting their departure and airing their grievances with Jericho’s leadership. Sammy Guevara suggested that he needed to make changes in his career. He and Daniel Garcia also showed their disgruntlement with Jericho after their loss to MJF and Adam Cole in the finals of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament. Jake Hager turned in his purple bucket hat to Jericho. This past Wednesday, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Tay Melo, and Anna Jay all confronted him. Jay told him that she does not believe that he appreciates them the same way that they did him.By the looks of it, the JAS has finally realized about Jericho what Santana and Ortiz did when they were once in The Inner Circle.
Jericho has also teased that he may be joining The Don Callis family, which also includes Konosuke Takeshita. Furthermore, Jericho has also met with Callis in meetings and was given a painting by him. To add to this, it was announced that Jericho will team with Takeshita to take on Guevara and Garica on the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite. This will undoubtedly add to the high tensions between Jericho and the rest of the JAS.

There have been times in the past where there have been clear tensions within the group, such as Garcia having to choose between The JAS and The Blackpool Combat Club. However, this instance is far more serious than had been in the past. Everyone is annoyed and angered with Jericho. He is also not doing anything to put anyone’s mind at ease, instead continuing to leave members in the dark about what his choice is going to be. And they all have valid reasons to be angry with him. When it comes to Jericho’s rivalries, they have always been there by his side to support him, but there are numerous instances where Jericho has not done the same.
In addition to that, it is also time to see what all of these wrestlers can do on their own. While it is yet to be seen what Jericho does next with Callis, it would be good to see what Guevara, Hager, Garcia, Melo, Jay, Menard, and Parker can do on their own. The JAS was helpful in building these names up, but it is time to see what is next for them.
