The 2022 NFL season is about to get underway. Players have officially reported to their camps for the most part, and fans will are anxiously awaiting the conclusion of the preseason. Beyond that, the regular season is set to start in September, as the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills open the year.

It's the former that all teams in the NFC are currently chasing. The Los Angeles Rams are looking to repeat after they captured their first Super Bowl in decades last season. However, many NFC teams are also contenders to come out of the conference, and they'll be aided by these breakout players.

The Arizona Cardinals are looking to improve upon their best season in years, as they made the playoffs behind the strength of Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins's chemistry. However, the latter is set to miss half the season due to a positive drug test.
A new receiver will step up in the absence of the former All-Pro, and it will be Rondale Moore. The second-year wideout is coming off a big rookie season and will have a lot more passes coming his way this year.
15 Los Angeles Rams: Ernest Jones

The Los Angeles Rams are looking to build upon their recent success, and they've somehow improved this offseason as well. The team went out and signed future Hall of Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner to help on the defensive end.

The other linebacker role will be filled by second-year player Ernest Jones. He's coming off a tremendous rookie year but was overshadowed by other big names on defense. This year, the spotlight will be on him, as he continues to improve.
14 Seattle Seahawks: Darrell Taylor

The Seattle Seahawks are likely in for their first rebuild in a long time. Following the departure of Russell Wilson, and rumors of other stars being on the trade block, they've decided to look to the younger players to lead the team.
There's no better option to build around on defense than Darrell Taylor. While he's missed some of his first two seasons due to injury, he's shown out when on the field at the defensive end. He will take a big leadership role this upcoming year.
13 San Francisco 49ers: Trey Lance
It's a new era for the San Francisco 49ers. Despite getting extremely close to winning the big one with Jimmy Garoppolo, they just couldn't get it done and have decided to part ways with the veteran quarterback in favor of Trey Lance.
In college, he was viewed as a high-ceiling prospect, hence the 49ers drafting him. He looked solid on the field in year one and will take a huge step and prove the San Francisco squad right by believing in him by breaking out this season.
12 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Scotty Miller

A new year, and a bunch of losses for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Tom Brady decided to end his short-lived retirement, they still lost big names in Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, and even head coach Bruce Arians.
On the offensive side of the ball, they'll need a new wideout to pick up the slack. That receiver will be third-year player Scotty Miller. He's had moments in his first two seasons but will get a lot of time in year three to show out.
11 New Orleans Saints: Chris Olave
Similar to the aforementioned Tampa Bay Bucs, the New Orleans Saints are a team with a lot of new faces. The squad lost longtime coach Sean Payton, among other losses. To help their offense and new coaches, they went out and drafted star wide receiver Chris Olave in round one.
Olave will make an immediate impact in New Orleans. With Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry coming off big injuries, you can expect the first-year wideout to get a lot of looks from the gunslinger, Jameis Winston.
10 Carolina Panthers: Tommy Tremble

While it's still too early to tell, the hope is that the Carolina Panthers figured out their quarterback issues. While not an MVP candidate, Baker Mayfield has proved that he can have success on the field and lead a team to the playoffs.
The quarterback switch is massive for Tommy Tremble. The tight end hasn't gotten much action his first two seasons, but will likely get a lot more looks given that he has someone okay at throwing the ball.
9 Atlanta Falcons: Drake London
The Atlanta Falcons finally decided to give it a rest, and do the rebuild that has been years in the making. They've decided to build for the future, and they made a huge step in that by drafting Drake London in round one.
While it's not known who will be throwing him the ball, expect the receiver to breakout in year one. London was a must-pick player for a reason, and there aren't many options to throw to in Atlanta anyway.
8 Green Bay Packers: Allen Lazard

The Green Bay Packers made it through the offseason with Aaron Rodgers, seemingly against all odds. However, they sadly lost their star wideout and number one option in DeVante Adams as a result. The Packers receiving corps looks bleak as a result.
The player best suited to step up in Adams's absence is fifth-year player Allen Lazard. Whenever he's been on the field, he's been solid, and he'll finally be given a starting role this year. Expect him to break out with more opportunities.
7 Detroit Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown
The Detroit Lions aren't the best team by any means. However, Dan Campbell and the squad are coming off a surprisingly solid year, where they battled back against injuries and surpassed most expectations that fans put on them.
One player that went above and beyond last year was Amon-Ra St. Brown. The wideout put up nearly 1,000 yards against all the odds against him. Already a solid player, expect to hear about him a lot more in 2022.
6 Minnesota Vikings: Cameron Dantzler

The Minnesota Vikings are in a new era, as longtime coach Mike Zimmer left the team following last year. The team always feels like they're on the verge of breaking out as a whole. While that won't happen, they do have a player who will.
Cornerback Cameron Dantzler has had a solid first two years in Minnesota. However, he will take the step from solid, to fantastic this year as he's in a new system, and will be one of the leaders on the defensive side of the ball.
5 Chicago Bears: Justin Fields
Justin Fields is coming off a bit of a rough rookie season. However, it's hard to blame him for that. The surrounding squad was terrible, as was head coach Matt Nagy, who was a lame-duck from day one.
With the better talent around him and more experience under his belt, Fields will finally showcase his talent in year two. Also, there are no more quarterback competitions this year as there were last, this is his team now, and he will show it,
4 Dallas Cowboys: Tony Pollard
The Dallas Cowboys head into this year hoping (as they always do), to win a championship. While that may not happen, we can expect some changes for the team. No bigger change will be bigger than the emergence of Tony Pollard.
Ezekiel Elliott clearly isn't what he once was. With that, fans can expect Pollard to get a lot more carries. He's improved every year of his career thus far, and we continue to improve this season.
3 New York Giants: Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones is heading into the final year of his current New York Giants contract. While he's had moments, it's safe to say that most fans are a little disappointed with his run in the blue so far. Granted, he's had a lot against him.

With offensive guru Brian Daboll and more weapons around him, Jones will take a huge leap this year. While he won't win MVP or anything, he will break out and show he can be a solid player in this league.
2 Washington Commanders: Jamin Davis

The Washington Commanders are coming off a bit of a wasted year. After showing massive improvement in Ron Rivera's first year, they dealt with a litany of injuries as they missed the playoffs, and their strong defense suffered.
However, they will bounce back this year. Helping with that bounceback will be former first-round pick Jamin Davis, who is heading into his second season. Coming off a solid rookie year, he will play great surrounded by talent such as Chase Young in year two.
1 Philadelphia Eagles: DeVonta Smith

The Philadelphia Eagles shattered expectations last year by making the playoffs behind the strength of Jalen Hurts and their offense. Much of that run is owed to first-year wideout DeVonta Smith, who had a solid first season.
Smith is heading into year two, and will fully break out. Already a good player in the league, expect him to take the next step by becoming a superstar and one of the most electric receivers in the NFC.
