Ring of Honor’s tag team division has always been a strong asset for the company. WWE started to pay less attention to tag team wrestling around the time of ROH developing a fan base. TNA was always hit or miss with their tag teams having a realistic shot at showing their skills. That made ROH the ideal promotion for fans of tag team wrestling.

Many of the best teams in recent memory had strong tag title reigns in ROH. Unfortunately, there were a few duos to do poorly with the tag titles in the technical wrestling-based promotion. Names like CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Kevin Owens made ROH an exciting company, but the tag team matches played a huge role in long-term success. Find out which duos stand out on either side with the best and worst ROH Tag Team Champions of all-time.
10 Best: El Generico and Kevin Steen
In their WWE careers, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have seen their history under the names of Kevin Steen and El Generico as partners and friends referenced. Ring of Honor was the place that saw their team take them to the next level as one of the best duos in wrestling.

There was a long storyline of Steen and Generico struggling to win the ROH Tag Team Championship after rising to the top and getting many opportunities. Steen and Generico won the titles in a huge moment by defeating Tyler Black aka Seth Rollins and Jimmy Jacobs in a great match before delivering a fun title reign.
9 Worst: Guerrillas of Destiny
The Guerrillas of Destiny are a very successful tag team for New Japan with Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa representing the Bullet Club. Ring of Honor’s working relationship with NJPW saw the Guerrillas of Destiny winning the ROH Tag Team Championship in 2019.
Neither wrestler cared much about the ROH titles and they even felt disrespected by the appearance of Big Cass and Enzo Amore at the end of the match. The Guerrillas of Destiny held the tag titles for a few months before dropping it to the Briscoe Brothers in their return.
8 Best: reDRagon
Ring of Honor found huge success when pairing Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish together as reDRagon. Both wrestlers had common enemies in Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards along with a genuine chemistry to develop in Japan.
reDRagon won the ROH Tag Team Championship on three occasions for a total of 672 days. Their great matches against the American Wolves, Young Bucks, and any other relevant tag team in that frame helped create a strong legacy.
7 Worst: Sal Rinauro and Tony Mamaluke
There were a few makeshift tag teams pushed in Ring of Honor during the early years to try to find success. Sal Rinauro and Tony Mamaluke were the strangest duo to win the ROH Tag Team Championship all the way back in 2005.
Mamaluke peaked years earlier in ECW as part of the Full Blooded Italians. The career of Rinauro saw him primarily working as an enhancement talent. Their tag team run was quite short and failed to provide memorable moments.
6 Best: The Young Bucks
The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, have found success in quite a few promotions before playing a role in the start of AEW. The outstanding chemistry of the real-life brothers helped the Young Bucks add Ring of Honor to the list of companies they dominated.
ROH saw the Young Bucks win the Tag Team Championship on three occasions during their lengthy time in the promotion. The run saw them work with all the major teams from Kevin Steen and El Generico to the Briscoe Brothers to reDRagon to the Kings of Wrestling in classic matches.
5 Worst: Forever Hooligans
The Forever Hooligans were an underrated tag team, but their ROH Tag Team Championship reign ended in disappointment. Alex Kozlov and Rocky Romero experienced a lot of success together in NJPW as a duo.

The run extended to Ring of Honor when they won the tag titles from reDRagon. Forever Hooligans fans would grew upset when the duo lost the tag belts after just seven days as tag champs. The American Wolves ended their run before they could develop any credibility as title holders.
4 Best: The Kings of Wrestling
Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli aka Kassius Ohno and Cesaro, had two drastically different yet equally successful runs as a tag team in Ring of Honor. The first stint of the Kings of Wrestling came in the mid-2000s with their reign lasting a little over two months.
ROH reformed the Kings of Wrestling back in 2009 when Hero and Claudio had even more credibility after their singles runs. The Kings of Wrestling had an iconic ROH Tag Team Championship rub last almost a full year with a double-digit number of noteworthy defenses.
3 Worst: Villain Enterprises
One of the more recent tag teams to struggle at the top of the division saw Villain Enterprises winning the belts in 2019. Brody King and PCO represented the faction led by Marty Scurll when defeating The Briscoe Brothers to win gold.
The ROH Tag Team Championship reign of the Villain Enterprises faction lasted just three weeks. It might be unfair to rank them so slow since ROH didn’t provide a fair chance to have a great reign. King and PCO dropped the belts at the infamous MSG show to the Guerillas of Destiny.
2 Best: The Briscoe Brothers
No tag team has accomplished as much in Ring of Honor nor has anyone developed as much success with the ROH Tag Team Championship as the Briscoe Brothers. The dominance of Jay and Mark has seen the brothers as a top ROH team for the past fourteen years and counting.
There have been a record-breaking eleven ROH Tag Team Championship reigns from the Briscoe Brothers. ROH has split them up for singles runs, but they always find their way back together like a truly legendary tag team would.
1 Worst: The All Night Express
Rhett Titus and Kenny King had a very underrated tag team run together as the All Night Express in Ring of Honor. Both wrestlers had chemistry and a friendship that existed both in the ring and as people outside of the business.
The reason for the lowest spot in the ROH Tag Team Championship’s history was the title reign ending before it could truly start. King left ROH for TNA for a spot in the X-Division and ROH refused to continue working with him. The All Night Express vacated the titles and failed to ever get back to that top spot when reuniting years later.
