The Royal Rumblematch sells thepay-per-view alone as it entices fans with the excitement surrounding the lead-up to WrestleMania. However, the Royal Rumble features World Championship matches, and other grudge matches to fill up time on the card. As expected, not every match at the Royal Rumble lived up to the hype.RELATED: 11 Wrestlers With The Most Final Four Appearances In The Royal Rumble MatchWrestling fanatics on Cagematch.net get to rate matches that lasted at least five minutes. So Ivory and Chyna's Women's Championship match from the 2001 Royal Rumble amongst other matches that lasted under five minutes, are exempt from gaining a poor rating.
10 The Mountie Vs. Koko B. Ware - 1991 (3.75)
The Mountie and Koko B. Ware collided in one of the most underwhelming matches on a poor 1991 Royal Rumble match card. The Rockers' battle with The Orient Express was by far the match of the night with the rest of the matches failing to match that.
Moreover, the match went back and forth, and Koko B. Ware had support from the fans. It wasn't enough as The Mountie laid out Koko B. Ware to prevail in a forgotten encounter that wasn't anything to shout about.
9 Bayley Vs. Lacey Evans - 2020 (3.70)
At Royal Rumble 2020, Bayley defended the SmackDown Women's Championship against Lacey Evans. The Sassy Southern Belle was hellbent on ending Evans' title reign, and she ramped up the intensity in the early proceedings of their championship bout.
Bayley took control of the match, but it wasn't a very good contest. The Role Model wasn't ready to part ways with the SmackDown Women's Championship, and she continued her run with the title.
8 The Legion Of Doom Vs. The Natural Disasters - 1992 (3.65)
A dream match of some sorts featured The Legion of Doom putting the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against The Natural Disasters at the 1992 Royal Rumble. For fans in attendance, they witnessed a borefest that lasted almost 10 minutes.
Both teams were capable of producing much better, but the match never reached the heights that it should have. All hell broke loose on the outside with both teams brawling. Ultimately, Typhoon got back inside the ring but since titles cannot change hands by count-out, the Legion of Doom retained their titles.
7 Triple H Vs. Scott Steiner - 2003 (3.12)
At the 2003 Royal Rumble, Triple H put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Scott Steiner. Their chemistry was underwhelming which is why the pair produced awful matches together. Moreover, the Cerebral Assassin was at the top of his game (no pun intended) as he had a stranglehold on the World Heavyweight Title.

Triple H was in trouble, but he resorted to using his trademark sledgehammer to put Steiner down. He got disqualified with Steiner prevailing, which led to another poor rematch at No Way Out 2003 with Triple H beating Steiner outright to put their feud to bed.
6 The Bushwhackers Vs. The Fabulous Rougeaus - 1990 (3.06)
The Bushwhackers and The Fabulous Rougeaus' clash at the 1990 Royal Rumble wasn't the first time that these two teams squared off on a major pay-per-view. They collided a year prior at WrestleMania 5. However, it was a marginal improvement from their first encounter with The Rougeaus determined to avenge their loss.
They opened up the show and The Rougeaus were the aggressors in the match. Moreover, The Rougeaus almost secured the win, but The Bushwhackers rebounded, and Bushwhacker Butch covered Jacques to replicate their WrestleMania victory.
5 The Ultimate Warrior Vs. Sgt Slaughter - 1991 (3.00)
The WWE Championship was defended at the Royal Rumble for the first time at the 1991 iteration of the event. The Ultimate Warrior was the defending champion and Sgt. Slaughter, who was portraying an-Iraqi sympathizer was the challenger looking to take the title away from Warrior.
This was a forgettable WWE Championship match, but Warrior and Slaughter should have gone on last considering it was the first WWE Title bout at the Rumble. Warrior's WWE Title reign was poor, and Slaughter shocked the world by ending Warrior's nine-month WWE Championship reign all thanks to interference from "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
4 The Undertaker Vs. Heidenreich - 2005 (2.85)
The Undertaker isn't a stranger to battling in casket matches at the Royal Rumble. For the third time, he competed in one at the Royal Rumble in 2005 against Heidenreich. Undertaker did his very best to match this match watchable but Heidenreich simply couldn't keep up with the Deadman.

Raw's Gene Snitsky interfered to give Heidenreich a helping hand. The demented duo's plans were foiled as Undertaker's brother Kane, who was feuding with Snitsky, emerged from the casket. Ultimately, Undertaker and Heidenreich were left to their own devices, and Undertaker planted Heidenreich with a Tombstone. He rolled Heidenreich into the casket to pick up the win.
3 Kurt Angle Vs. Mark Henry - 2006 (3.00)
Somehow Kurt Angle's World Heavyweight Championship match with Mark Henry managed to headline the 2006 Royal Rumble. Maybe, The Undertaker appearing on a horse and carriage at the end of the Rumble had something to do with it as the ring was pulled apart.
Angle and Henry's match failed to click and it was massively underwhelming. The 2006 Royal Rumble match or Edge and John Cena's WWE Title match was the better option to go on last. Nevertheless, Angle retained the World Heavyweight Championship, and his feud with The Undertaker gained traction after the event.
2 Brutus Beefcake Vs. The Genius - 1990 (2.56)
The younger brother of Randy Savage, The Genius squared off with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake at the 1990 Royal Rumble. The fans were backing Beefcake, and this contest was one of the worst matches ever produced in the history of the Royal Rumble.
Beefcake was in a commanding position, and he attempted to cut The Genius' hair. The match was ruled as a double disqualification as Mr. Perfect came to the aid of The Genius with both retreating back to the locker room.
1 The Beverly Brothers Vs. The Bushwhackers - 1992 (0.82)
At Royal Rumble 1992, The Beverly Brothers and The Bushwhackers faced off in an atrocious tag team match. This wasn't the first time that The Bushwhackers had a stinker at the Rumble, but this was worse than their 1990 clash with The Rougeaus.
They managed to compete for 15 minutes, and it would have felt like an eternity for fans watching at home and in attendance. Ultimately, the victory went to the Beverly Brothers way who saw off The Bushwhackers with a double ax handle.
