Pro Wrestling Tees has revealed Sting's first AEW t-shirt has sold more units than any other in its history.
On Wednesday night, as Team Taz beat down Cody Rhodes and his friends in the ring, the lights went out and someone unexpected came to their aid. The Icon, Sting. It made for what might well be one of the most memorable moments in AEW history as we approach the promotion's second birthday. It remains unclear whether Sting will be wrestling or not.
What we do know is that the WWE Hall of Famer will be sticking around for a while. AEW boss Tony Khan has revealed that he has signed a multi-year deal. Sting is already proving that he might well be quite the money-spinner for the fledgling promotion. That's if t-shirt sales are anything to go by.

The AEW Sting shirt he was wearing on Wednesday night was made available at Pro Wrestling Tees right after the show. Although it hasn't revealed the official numbers, PWT's Instagram account let its followers know that Sting's shirt has sold more during its first 24 hours than any other shirt in its history. That was reported long before the first 24 hours were up, suggesting that Sting has now set a record that will be hard to beat.
PWT recently revealed some more telling stats about its 2020 sales. Orange Cassidy and Chris Jericho occupy four of the five best-sellers at the store this year, with Owen Hart's first t-shirt in years completing the top five. However, considering how well Sting's AEW debut shirt has performed off the bat, there's a chance that the top five will be disrupted before the year is out.
This week's Dynamite was certainly an action-packed edition. From Sting's debut to Kenny Omega winning the World Title and hijacking it to take to Impact Wrestling. It also popped a rating for the show, as expected. It didn't become the second episode of Dynamite ever to break the million viewer mark, but it did surpass 900,000 live viewers. It seems as if a lot of those viewers came from NXT as WWE's Wednesday night show dropped back below 700,000.
