Seth Rollins had a fantastic 2023. He became the inaugural Heavyweight Champion and was the MVP of WWE. He was the face of Monday Night Raw, having stellar matches every week, and even found time to be an actor, landing a part in the MCU for the film Captain America: Brave New World. 2024, however, hasn't been kind to Rollins so far. First, he tore his MCL in a match against Jinder Mahal a few weeks ago on Raw, but was lucky enough to avoid serious injury. Then, his potential WrestleMania 40 opponent, CM Punk, tore his triceps at the Royal Rumble. Last night on Raw, Rollins was begging Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes to choose to face him. Today, the news got even worse as it was revealed that Seth Rollins' part in Captain America has been cut.
The news came from CanWeGetSomeToast. It was revealed that Rollins had been cast as part of The Secret Society, but CanWeGetSomeToast said that the group of bad guys had been completely removed from the film during reshoots. While it wasn't a large role, it would have put Rollins on the map as an actor in a major motion picture. Ironically, Rollins' wife, Becky Lynch, filmed a post-credits scene for the MCU movie Eternals in 2021, only to find her part cut as well. It's been a rough go lately for wrestlers trying to make the transition to acting, as MJF had most of his role as Lance Von Erich cut out of The Iron Claw. He's in the finished film for just a few seconds in a blink and you'll miss it moment.

Becky Lynch may have been cut from Eternals, but she did find some success playing Cindy Lauper in Young Rock. MJF didn't get much screentime in The Iron Claw, but he still wants to be an actor. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena, and Dave Bautista have found massive success in Hollywood. They are taken seriously, whereas once upon a time, wrestlers turned actors like Hulk Hogan were seen as a joke.
Last year, Seth Rollins spoke to the Daily Mail about his acting dreams. He said:
"It's cool to get opportunities to do something outside of your comfort zone. This is what I love, WWE, professional wrestling, it's all I've ever wanted to do and all I ever intend to do as a career for as long as I can, but anytime you get to a certain level in this industry there's going to be opportunities that come your way and I love taking chances at this point in my career... So if you get the chance to do something incredible outside of WWE, you've got to take a look at it, try and make it work the best you can because you only get one life and one chance and you never know when you might get an opportunity like that - so you got to make it happen."
Hopefully, Seth Rollins gets another chance to show Hollywood what he can do as an actor very soon.
