As of now, John Cena isn't on the card for WrestleMania 37 weekend.

Cena has appeared at WrestleMania every year since 2003. So if he doesn't show up this weekend, it will be the end of a remarkable 18-year streak.

The 16-time World Champion previously stated that he won't be able to attend this year's show because he's filming the Peacemaker HBO Max series in Vancouver, British Columbia. Cena explained that the filming schedule and quarantine rules will prevent him from making an appearance in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Fightful Select (h/t Ringside News) reports that a Cena WrestleMania appearance "would likely have been laid out and planned well ahead of time due to his filming schedule."

Interestingly, however some wrestlers told Fightful "they’d be surprised if he didn’t pop up in some capacity."

Even if Cena doesn't appear at Raymond James Stadium, there are several ways for him to get involved. And perhaps WWE will use WrestleMania weekend to build up Cena's next match, whenever he returns.

Cena's last WWE match took place at WrestleMania 36 a year ago. He faced Bray Wyatt in a cinematic "Firefly Fun House" match, with the latter emerging victorious via pinfall.

This year's WrestleMania card doesn't feature any part-timers or legends on the match card. Goldberg, Triple H and Brock Lesnar also aren't part of this year's show, and The Undertaker is now retired as a wrestler.

Cena has wrestled three matches since the start of 2019, and some fans have naturally wondered about his long-term future with the company. But Cena has made it clear that he doesn't think he'll "ever retire" from WWE.

Hopefully He Returns Soon

If Cena doesn't appear at WrestleMania, hopefully we won't have to wait long to see him again. It's been over a year since his last match, after all, and there are plenty of quality opponents for Cena to feud with.
