Warning! Spoilers for Poison Ivy #3 by DC Comics
DC's Poison Ivy gets a gorgeous transformation bringing her closer to the Green than ever, as new cover art from Stanley "Artgerm" Lau shows the villain with an all-new look. The stunning variant cover shows Pamela Isley sporting a new costume made solely from the Green, as she becomes something different - which is equally beautiful as it is terrifying.
Poison Ivy is one of DC Comics' most iconic characters as the nature-controlling villain has sparred with Batman and become an A-List rogue for the hero. While Poison Ivy has become more of a misunderstood antihero over recent years than an outright villain, as she cares about preserving nature (by any means) more than the humans who have helped destroy it, her new series is set to take her down a darker path. Poison Ivy #1 by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara will feature Poison Ivy leaving Gotham City as she attempts to heal the world by trying to end humanity. As her new plans come to fruition, Poison Ivy gets a new costume in a stunning variant cover.
In the upcoming Poison Ivy #3 by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara from DC Comics, the titular villain/antihero will be dealing with a group of assassins who come after her following her attempts at "fixing the world." One variant cover featuring Poison Ivy by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau merging with the Green and nature shows off a different side of the character. The DC cover art shows Poison Ivy covered by the Green, creating a new costume that is breathtaking.
Artgerm is no stranger to creating beautiful titles in his signature style, but the new Poison Ivy look/costume might be among his best designs ever. DC Comics is really bringing out the big guns for the new series, as G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara are some of the industry's most critically-acclaimed and sought-after creators. Besides Artgerm's variant, DC recruited superstar cover artist Joshua Middleton to provide another gorgeous cover for Poison Ivy #3. For collectors, both cover arts are must pick-ups.
Poison Ivy's unique connection to the Green has led to some incredible costumes and designs for the character, as she's become one with nature. However, the new DC Comics cover art from Stanley "Artgerm" Lau is one of her best looks; hopefully, readers will get the chance to see the design in action in the series at some point. Readers can pick up the Poison Ivy variant cover art when Poison Ivy #3 from DC Comics arrives in comic book stores in August.
