Ferb, voiced by Thomas Sangster, has a crush on Vanessa Doofenshmirtz voiced by Olivia Olson. In the film Love Actually (2003), Sam (played by Thomas Sangster) learns to play the drums so that he can impress Joanna (played by Olivia Olson).

While other characters simply call him Perry, Dr. Doofenshmirtz always refers to Perry by his full name (Perry the Platypus). He doesn't abbreviate the names of his other nemeses either (Peter the Panda, Planty the Potted Plant, etc.).

The giant floating baby head, which was first featured in "Phineas and Ferb: One Good Scare Ought to Do It! (#1.33)" (2007), has since become a running gag in the series. According to Dan Povenmire, the baby head came from "one board panel drawn by Michael Diederich and one of our directors, Robert Hughes thought it was hilarious and made a whole bit about it. Now it shows up all the time."

It has been seen in several episodes that Ferb has a crush on Dr. Doofenshmirtz's daughter Vanessa.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz often refers to previous episodes.

Although Ferb rarely speaks, he has been shown to have a great singing voice.

It is hinted in the series that Dr. Doofenshmirtz's could be German, the word "Doof" his name is German for stupid or idiot.

The show takes place in Danville, which is in Jefferson County which is in the Tri-State Area. Danville is named after co-creator Dan Povenmire and Jefferson County is named after co-creator Jeff Swampy Marsh.

The family's last names are Flynn and Fletcher.

Sometimes Jeremy works at "Mr. Slushy Burger", and sometimes he works at "Mr. Slushy Dog".

Director/creator Dan Povenmire and director Zac Moncrief both left "Family Guy" (1999), to work on this show.

Ferb rarely talks; in fact there are many episodes in which he has no lines at all. (According to Phineas, "Ferb's more of a man of action".)

Dr. Doofenshmirtz's inventions usually end with "-inator".

Dr. Doofenshmirtz's name was originally Dr. Meddleshmirtz.

Each episode contains at least one original song. The writing staff sings the song into the answering machine of Danny Jacob on Fridays to have it be magically written each Monday.
