In modern football, we know of the likes of Hector Bellerin as a football star who doubles up as a fashion enthusiast with great taste for runway modelling.

However, few fans are aware that Bellerin is not the first Barcelona player to ever strut his stuff on the runway, as Pep Guardiola did it nearly three decades ago.

Guardiola, considered one of the best managers in football history, did not start out that way. In fact, as a player, he doubled down as a model, albeit quite briefly.

Eurofoot has since released an interesting video of the fashion show, and it is safe to say Guardiola was quite easy on the eye as far as modelling is concerned back in the day.

In one shot, Pep is seen in a while shirt with stripes on the short sleeves and he complements it with brown baggy-looking pants.

Another clip shows the young Guardiola donning a suave suit as he casually but confidently walks down the runway.

According to a report on soccergator.io, the decision to take part in the fashion show angered the then Barcelona manager Johan Cruyff, who reprimanded Guardiola.

“Pep asked my father in the 90s if he could model for him”, Miro’s son told Mundial Magazine.
“My dad was an FC Barcelona supporter, so he liked the idea and said yes.Johan Cruyff punished Pep afterwards for being unprofessional,”

Guardiola has admitted in the past that his wife has played a huge role in his exquisite sense of fashion toda.
