Pat McAfee Comments On Being Sued By Brett Favre

Pat McAfee has been riding high of late, with the popularity of The Pat McAfee Show, his stint on ESPN's College GameDay, and of course, to WWE fans, his phenomenal work as a SmackDown commentator and occasional wrestler, which saw him return to the commentary booth at the Royal Rumble. Nothing seems to get to him, not even getting sued. Recently, Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Brett Favre filed defamation lawsuits against McAfee and former NFL player turned media personality Shannon Sharpe for comments they made about Favre's alleged involvement in a Mississippi welfare funds scandal.McAfee addressed the lawsuit on his show and came off as more amused than upset or worried.
"The quotes that were in that lawsuit were certainly accurate, but there’s one word, I believe that was said, often, on this particular program, if you were to watch at all, and that would be ‘allegedly.’ Our job is to report the news. Allegedly what was going on down in Mississippi with Brett Favre, the man who is suing me for money and for defamation, was being reported on this particular program because we owe the sports media world our coverage of it.
“We certainly said 'allegedly.' A lot of people are wondering how my lawyers are gonna handle this. You know it, I ain’t got ‘em. So let’s ride this f***er, I’m excited to see how it goes. I’ll see you in court, pal.” (h/t yahoo!sports)

Would A Lawsuit Change How WWE Uses Pat McAfee?
Usually, when a media personality is being sued, there's a good chance that it affects how they are used by companies going forward. Don't expect that to be the case with Pat McAfee. Few seem to be taking Favre's lawsuit seriously, and it's likely WWE won't either. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, McAfee is back with Michael Cole on SmackDown, and if we're lucky, we can get another WrestleMania match from him as well.
