VH1 recently posted a throwback video to Instagram of Megan Thee Stallion's incredibly on-brand audition video for the show. "It's Megan Thee Stallion aka young Tina Snow aka H-Town Hottie and I'm from Houston Texas and I'm just the best female rapper that's poppin' off right now," she said in the video. "And on top of that, I'm a full-time college student."
Later in the video, she mentions that her "mom was a female rapper" and that she recalls one day at the age of 18 telling her that she, too, wanted to become a rapper. "I can rap," she asserted to her mother at the time. Megan Thee Stallion claims her mother responded by saying, "Uh, no you can't," but she believed in herself nonetheless.
"Megan is gonna become a household name," she added. "When you're talkin' about those poppin' rappers, I'm going to be in that conversation." We can only imagine how VH1 feels right now knowing they turned down one of the biggest up and coming rappers in the industry — just as she predicted she would become (via Hot New Hip Hop).
