Michael Cole needs to watch what he's saying about House Hardy otherwise, he may soon find himself in a match against King Maxel.
As pro wrestling fans, most of us likely have a time in the business that we believe was the "best era". If you're in your late 20s or early 30s, you likely think that the Attitude Era was the best time to be a fan. Those a little older than that probably reminisce fondly about the latter half of the 1980s when Hulkamania was running wild. What that demonstrates is how much the industry is always evolving.
Things that are different to what we're familiar with in wrestling are often met with differing opinions, and there has been nothing more different in recent years than what Matt Hardy has brought to the table. In Impact Wrestling, Hardy became "Broken", and what followed was downright bizarre. Now, the gimmick has made it to WWE and even though it took a while to take, Hardy is currently doing extremely well alongside Bray Wyatt.

There will undoubtedly be some fans who still don't get it though, and WWE is kind of playing up to that on screen. During Hardy's segments on Raw each week, Michael Cole acts baffled and makes derogatory comments about The Woken One and the rest of his quirky family. This past Monday night, he may have gone a step too far by referring to Hardy's youngest son, Lord Wolfgang, as "that bald-headed kid".
Clearly, poking fun at Lord Wolfgang was the final straw. Hardy's wife Reby has said that "plans are in motion" to silence Cole, and their oldest son, King Maxel has challenged the announcer to a match. Maxel tweeted "So who is ready to see the undefeated #KingMaxel vs the obsolete Michael Cole?" Maxel has famously already had one match—despite only being two years old—when he defeated Rockstar Spud in Impact Wrestling, now known as Drake Maverick on 205 Live.
Most fans are likely rolling their eyes at the idea of Cole once becoming an on-screen character for WWE. The last time that was the case it didn't exactly make for the most entertaining angles. Perhaps this time around though, opposite of Hardy and his wacky Woken family, it will make for some great television, especially if Cole ends up being deleted.
