Love Is Blind season 4’s Kwame Appiah was a former professional soccer player. The athlete had a great career before an unfortunate injury ended it.

Kwame Appiah spoke about his soccer injury on Love Is Blind season 4, and his job has sparked more interest than his relationship status with Chelsea Griffin. The 33-year-old Portland native has been demanding attention on the newest season of the Netflix series. Kwame entered the dating world to find his future wife and formed an instant connection with Micah Lussier. It was Chelsea who finally stole his heart, but he revealed quite a few interesting things about himself during his pod dates.
When Kwame was dumped by his first choice in Love Is Blind season 4, 27-year-old Micah, he turned his attention to 31-year-old Chelsea. From the 30 singles that entered the social experiment, Kwame and Chelsea’s pairing showed potential as a Love Is Blind couple who could get married. Kwame wanted someone to match his “energy” after having been single for four years. A man of many talents, Kwane also has a moving, yet interesting backstory.
Love Is Blind Star Kwame Appiah Played Soccer In School
In 2015, Love Is Blind cast member Kwame graduated from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. As per Kwame's LinkedIn, he started college in 2008, but took a semester off in 2010 because he couldn’t afford it and waited tables instead. Kwame was an NCAA student athlete, and played as a forward on the men’s soccer team at his school, according to the Goldey-Beacom College Athletics website. In 2011, Kwame came back to school and took enough credits to maintain a partial soccer scholarship, while waiting tables for two days and working at Apple four days a week.
Kwame’s NCAA eligibility ended in 2012, along with his soccer scholarship, so he went back to “part time schooling and part time Apple.” In 2015, Kwame was able to go back to school full-time when Apple started offering part-time tuition reimbursement. He signed a soccer contract to play on weekends. Kwame got his Bachelor’s degree in 2015, and obtained his M.B.A. in Business Administration and Management from the same university in 2017. The same year, Kwame left to play soccer in Sweden, and suffered his career-ending injury in 2018.

Kwame played professional soccer for the Philadelphia Fury for eight months from June to January 2014, and the Delaware Stars from February 2016 to December 2016. Kwame was a varsity girls' soccer coach at The Tatnall School for over two years in Wilmington, Delaware. He was a part-time guest coach and trainer at the White Clay Soccer Club from March 2017 to May 2018, where he “Assisted teams with training sessions in order to align club philosophy.” For a little over a year starting from March 2017 to May 2018, Kwame worked as an Olympic Development Coach for U.S. Youth Soccer in Delaware.
Love Is Blind Star Kwame Appiah’s Past & Current Job
Kwame was born in Tema, Ghana, and was raised by his uncle and a babysitter until he came to the U.S. when he turned eight years old. He met his parents for the first time at JFK airport. Apart from being a former professional soccer player, Kwame is a business developer and also a photographer. He is now the Head of Community Development at a software development company called Common Room. As Kwame continues to grow professionally, his relationship with Chelsea on Love Is Blind is also blossoming. The show will soon reveal if Kwame and Chelsea's relationship will end in marriage to become another reality TV success story.
