Overview

As a nurse, clinical associate professor, and a chartered member of KU Medical Center’s inaugural DEI cabinet, I have direct experience in workforce heterogeneity, recruitment, retention and fostering diverse, equitable and inclusive learning and working environments. As a nurse for the past 19 years, and faculty in KU School of Nursing for the past 10 years I have a broad background in leadership, systems thinking, professional development, health disparities, health inequities, social determinants of health, and culturally responsive care. As such, my scholarly works have focused on diversity, civility, healthy work environment, cultural competency, emotional intelligence, mentoring, health equity, educational equity, and workforce heterogeneity.
