Interview: Heartthrob Ok Taec-yeon on bringing his A-game in vampire rom-com Heartbeat

Actor and musician Ok Taec-yeon has a separate fanbase for his elite discography and filmography. The 2PM star took over the K-drama scene with his wildly popular stints in Let’s Fight Ghost and most notably, Vincenzo. And now, he’s back for more. His next is far from the evil Jang Han Seok from the crime thriller. In Heartbeat, he plays a half-human half-vampire Seon U-hyeol. The show which also features Won Ji-an, Park Kang-hyun and Yoon So-hui is out.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Ok Taec-yeon answered a burning question - Are we going to see a new side of the actor?
Talking about how Heartbeat is a blend of all the talents he has showcased so far, Ok Taec-yeon said, "Well, I don't think I'd call it a new side. I wanted to convey all my bright and positive energy through my character. Until now in my career, I've portrayed many different characters. I've been a part of 2PM in front of the fans. But this character Seon U-hyeol is the absolute concentrated version of all the good sides I have shown so far."
In Heartbeat, Ok Taec-yeon’s Seon U-hyeol misses his shot to turn into a human when his 100-year sleep is interrupted by a cold-blooded school teacher. The two end up living together in the rundown building she inherits. Heartbeat is out on OTT.
