When working out, sports bras are the way to go, and it's the quality of the bra you choose that makes all the difference. How can you determine what type of sports bra may work for you? First, getting sized is critical. A staggering 80% of women wear the incorrect bra size, according to research published in the Chiropractic & Osteopathy journal. Wearing bras that are too big or too small can significantly affect comfortability in any setting, particularly when exercising. Victoria's Secret does sizing for free in stores, as do most bra and lingerie stores. However, the type of bra being purchased is also dependent on the kind of activity you're doing. For instance, racerback sports bras are excellent for larger-breasted women who enjoy running because the straps are constructed to cross in the middle of the back, adding extra lift.

No one likes underwires, but they get the job done by keeping breasts upright and firmly against the chest. Without this wire, there is less separation between the breasts, which could cause some bounciness when doing strenuous activity. Luckily, bra companies have revised this feature over the years to make them more comfortable, most notably by incorporating a seamless component. While the purpose of the seamless bra is to exist without the wire, women with more up top may require both for comfort and support.
