Triple H and Randy Orton are two of the top WWE superstars of all time, with an esteemed history against each other. The Game rose to the ranks in the Attitude Era and became a legitimate threat to the entire roster. On the other hand, Randy Orton came from a legacy of WWE Hall of Famers; his grandfather and his father. The Viper entered the world of professional wrestling in 2002 to carve his own path and carry forward the family name in the modern era.

It was around the early 2000s that Triple H and Ric Flair formed Evolution with a vision to merge the past, present, and future of wrestling. Randy Orton was brought in as the blue-chip prospect who was envisioned to be the future of WWE. However, when Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in 2004, he was banished from the group by Triple H and that was the start of hatred between the duo.

As they progressed in their respective careers achieving greater heights, Triple H and Randy Orton would cross paths once again in a highly intense rivalry in 2009. This had also involved Triple H's family and Orton's cohorts, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, from his own faction, Legacy. Things got so heated in the process that the Cerebral Assassin once broke into Randy Orton's home to lay carnage. So let's dive deep and explore the subject from the time Triple H arrived at Randy Orton's residence to punish him.

One of the most intense rivalries in WWE in 2009 was between Triple H and Randy Orton over the WWE Championship. The build-up to The Game and Orton's WWE Championship match saw some of the most intimate and thrilling moments fans had not witnessed in a long time in the months before WrestleMania.

When Orton was at his most crazy and vicious, he attacked WWE Chairman and Triple H's father-in-law Vince McMahon and started the feud by punting him in the skull. Stephanie and Shane McMahon, the chairman's kids, got involved, but Orton eliminated them both, and Triple H didn't intervene until the Apex Predator attacked the Billionaire Princess (also, his wife) with an RKO.

As the conflict grew, Randy Orton revealed that everything he had done had been part of a plot to get revenge on the Cerebral Assassin for betraying him and booting him out of Evolution several years prior. The conflict felt like a big issue that had been years in the planning since the references to an old plot were uncommon in WWE at the time. Moreover, the final nail in the coffin was Orton planting Stephanie McMahon with a DDT while Triple H was handcuffed to the rope. Adding further insult to injury, Orton did the unthinkable by kissing an unconscious Stephanie right in front of her husband, Triple H. This was the last straw and the 14-time World Champion had decided to resort to extreme measures to punish the Legend Killer.

Triple H had decided to exact revenge for everything Randy Orton had done to his family members and his plan was something no one had expected. At the time, Randy Orton and his then-wife Samantha were in the middle of an interview on the March 9th edition of Monday Night RAW where Orton vowed to destroy Triple H at WrestleMania. However, during the middle of the talk, Orton heard some disturbance and ran towards the door, which was being hit by an object.

As the door broke, it was revealed to be Triple H standing at the doorstep with his trusted Sledgehammer and Orton's wife shouting all over the scene. A brief stare-down followed with Randy not able to believe that Triple H had invaded his house. As The Game charged, Orton ran back into the kitchen. Triple H followed him and encountered several of his family members in search of Randy who hid in fear of the man with the sledgehammer.

As Triple H searched, Orton finally emerged to sneak attack him with both men throwing punches at each other in Randy's living room. However, Triple H gained the upper hand and threw Randy Orton right out through the window in one of the most iconic WWE moments in history. The brawl continued in the front lawn until the local PD arrived at the scene and arrested Triple H for a home invasion.

Triple H defeated Randy Orton at WrestleMania 25 in an instant classic. The rivalry continued even after and finally ended at WWE Backlash with Randy Orton finally dethroning Triple H for the WWE Championship in a 6-man tag team match featuring Legacy on Orton's side and Shane McMahon and Batista on Triple H's side.
