Sun Coins are one of the types of Voyage Coins in Lost Ark that can be traded for Pirate Coins, and there are a few ways to obtain them.
Sun Coins are a type of Voyage Coin in Lost Ark along with Sceptrum's Coins, Arcturus's Coins, Gienah's Coins, and Ancient Coins. Voyage Coins are generally gathered using the same methods, but there are a few ways to ensure players have enough Sun Coins when they need them. Although there are multiple ways to earn Sun Coins, it will likely take a while to farm for them if players want to exchange them for more expensive items like an Omnium Star.
Sun Coins can only be found in Punika. As is the case with other Voyage Coins in Lost Ark, Sun Coins can be earned for completing different activities, including island quests and marine co-op events. However, Pirate Coins are also awarded for completing events and quests in Lost Ark, so there's no guarantee that players will receive Sun Coins. The easiest way to get Sun Coins quickly is to find and hold onto High Seas Coin Chests.
Completing island quests and marine events can also earn players High Seas Coin Chests, and they can choose which type of currency they want from each chest that's opened. The High Seas Coin Chests will award players 100 coins of their chosen currency. It's recommended that players save their High Seas Coin Chests until they are in need of a specific type of currency rather than opening each one as soon as it's obtained. Farming for High Seas Coin Chests is the best way to earn a lot of Sun Coins.
What To Use Sun Coins For In Lost Ark
Sun Coins can be traded for Pirate Coins in Lost Ark at an exchange rate of one Sun Coin for 20 Pirate Coins. Out of the five types of Voyage Coins, Sun Coins have the highest exchange rate for Pirate Coins. As one of the more important currency types in Lost Ark, Pirate Coins can be very valuable resources. However, there are reasons for players to save up their Sun Coins instead of exchanging them for Pirate Coins.
One of the seven Omnium Stars in Lost Ark will need to be purchased for a total of 8,000 Sun Coins. Omnium Stars are collectibles in Lost Ark that unlock items and are used to help maximize a character's power. Since the price for the Omnium Star is so high, it may be better for players to focus on saving their Sun Coins and earn Pirate Coins a different way. An Omnium Star can be purchased for 8,000 Sun Coins at the Spearfish Hunting Guild Vessel.
For Lost Ark players that want to work on obtaining the Omnium Star, continuous farming for High Seas Coin Chests is the fastest method. Since Sun Coins can also be awarded for some of the same activities as the chests, it's more efficient to complete objectives that offer both as rewards. The co-op marine events seem to yield the best results when trying to earn a large number of Sun Coins. Lost Ark has a variety of currencies used throughout the game, including Sun Coins.
