The Baby Daddy season 6 finale brought the long-running Freeform sitcom to a close. Here’s what went down in the last ever episode of the show.

The Baby Daddy season 6 finale also acted as the series finale – here’s how the episode played out. Created and executive produced by Dan Berendsen, this Freeform sitcom premiered back in 2012. Baby Daddy’s plot focused on Ben Wheeler (Jean-Luc Bilodeau), a twenty-something bartender living the single life in New York City whose world is turned upside down when a former one night stand leaves a baby he never knew he had on his doorstep. Luckily for Ben, he’s got his overbearing mother Bonnie (Melissa Peterman), brother Danny (Derek Theler), childhood pal Riley (Chelsea Kane) and roommate Tucker (Tahj Mowry) to help him raise his newfound daughter Emma.

Baby Daddy was Freeform’s longest-running half-hour comedy and the cable network’s highest-rated show, so it came as quite a surprise when news broke the sitcom had been canceled a couple of weeks before the season 6 finale aired. On the upside, Dan Berendsen had an inkling the show might not be renewed so penned the Baby Daddy season 6 finale as a series ender that would provide closure for fans.

Baby Daddy’s season 6 finale “Daddy’s Girl” was also the sitcom’s 100th episode, befittingly. The episode saw Ben questioning his future as a single dad after Emma starts asking questions about her mother, spurred on by a mother-daughter talent show she’s taking part in. Ben’s single status looks like it might be about to change, however, as Elle – the mystery girl he was trying to find at the start of season 6 – is tracking him down.

Meanwhile, a heavily pregnant Riley is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her and Danny’s baby after a few false alarms, while Danny tries to find her the perfect push present with the help of Tucker. Elle finally manages to track down Ben at the mother-daughter talent show but Riley goes into labor and Ben has to take her to the hospital as Danny and Tucker are still on their gift-buying mission.

Just as it seems Ben and Elle’s paths are never destined to cross, it turns out the doctor that will be delivering Riley and Danny’s baby is none other than Elle. Danny finally makes it to the delivery room just as Riley is about to give birth to their baby boy and Ben asks Elle out on a date. In a nice bit of symmetry, Baby Daddy ends the same way it started – with the arrival of a baby.
