Scorpio Sky is one of the most reliable performers in AEW, and he has been there from near enough day one, making history as one-half of the first-ever AEW World Tag Team Champions. Once upon a time, however, he was actually featured on WWE TV, not as a wrestler, but as a popular member of the Team Hell No anger management skits named Harold. A long time has passed since then, but what happened in between to make Sky a successful performer to a global audience?

“Harold” Was A Popular Part Of WWE’s Anger Management Skits

Sky was a ten-year veteran even before he stepped foot in WWE, wrestling around the globe on the independent circuit, improving his craft with a rising stock as time went on. He would appear in PWG, Wrestling Society X, Ring of Honor, among several others, winning several championships over the course of his career. In 2012, he was brought into WWE as an extra, playing the role of Harold in an anger management class for Team Hell No.

General Manager at the time, AJ Lee, sent the feuding pair of Daniel Bryan and Kane to anger management to resolve their personal issues. The segments are fondly looked back on as some great comedic work from WWE, with Bryan and Kane doing a fantastic job in what could have been a disastrous storyline. One of the members of anger management was Sky’s character, Harold, who tried to be kind to both men on several occasions.

Harold would open up about his problems at work, to which Bryan retorted and said it was nothing compared to his troubles at work. Later on, after Kane had made an appearance, burning his “anger collage” in a trash can, Harold attempted to befriend Kane. This led to Kane grabbing Harold by the throat for placing a hand on his leg. After Kane caught Bryan in a trust fall, the pair then had to catch Harold, much to his displeasure. They both teamed up to not catch Harold, leaving him to require “medical attention”. Harold’s last appearance would be when he tried to act as a peacekeeper between the two but was told to “shut up” by both men. Harold was an integral part in bringing Team Hell No together, who would become one of the more popular tag teams in recent memory.

Scorpio Sky Played A Big Part In AEW’s Early Shows

Sky would return to wrestling following his endeavors in WWE, but it was a significant step by being able to show some acting range on national television. He continued wrestling in several promotions, with a stint in TNA and eventually appearing in NJPW too. In the time that passed since WWE, Sky became more fine-tuned in the ring, eventually finding a strong place alongside Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels as part of SCU, who became one of the more popular acts in ROH.

In 2019, SCU would leave ROH and join a brand-new company, AEW, as one of their first signings. The team was a great opening act to several shows, and once the company secured a TV deal, SCU entered the World Tag Team Title Tournament. Following an injury to Daniels, Sky took his place in the tournament in a string of performances which made the fans rally behind him as a fantastic underdog babyface. He and Kazarian would eventually defeat The Lucha Bros to become the first-ever AEW World Tag Team Champions, with Sky looking like a star.

Scorpio Sky Has Quietly Been One Of The More Important AEW Wrestlers

Since losing the titles, all three men suffered for a while, and Sky ended up leaving the group, with him going on a heel run which saw him team up Ethan Page to form “The Men of the Year”. Though Sky has been lost in the shuffle at times, he has been very important to several programs and has produced many good matches. He has been called upon several times to help carry big matches, for example, wrestling in Sting’s first match live in a ring in over five years and is one of the only two wrestlers in American Top Team in their battle with The Inner Circle, helping to carry the load and make the match watchable.

Although Sky sometimes feels overshadowed, he always performs to a high standard in the ring and has been an integral part of AEW ever since its inception, coming a long way from just being an extra in WWE – even if it was very entertaining. Sky is now a legitimate performer, wrestling in front of a growing and worldwide audience, as one of the most trusted in-ring talents in the company.
