Here's why Sushmita Sen initially took back her Miss India pageant entry form

It was a proud moment for India in 1994 when two Indian beauties Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai won the crown of Miss Universe and Miss World respectively. Both of them had earlier won the Miss India beauty pageant in 1994. But did you know that Sushmita decided to take back her entry form when she came to know that Aishwarya was also participating in Miss India competition?
During an interview which is going viral, Sushmita had revealed that as many as 25 girls had taken back their entry form after knowing that Aishwarya was participating. Sushmita said that she did the same because of the fact that Aishwarya was so beautiful and was already famous. Sushmita too decided to take back her entry form. But her mother scolded her for it and asked her to give her best shot. She also revealed that she was convinced she would lose the competition since Aishwarya had won most of the rounds. When Aishwarya’s name was announced as the first runner-up, Sushmita started to cry thinking that she had not even made it to the runners-up. But when her name was announced as the winner, she could not believe it. Eventually Sushmita was crowned Miss India and later she won the crown of Miss Universe.
