Happy Birthday Sanjay Leela Bhansali: 5 times the filmmaker gave us Strong Female characters

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his grandeur in filmmaking. He is recognised for building his canvases from scratch, intensely passionate about every tiny detail that lends excellence to each of his frames and is considered a rare visionary filmmaker who never felt the need for visual effects brought to large-canvas films.

He is also the recipient of several awards, including four National Film Awards, ten Filmfare Awards and a BAFTA nomination.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali made his directorial debut with the musical film Khamoshi (1996) starring Salman Khan and Manisha Koirala. The film earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Film (Critics). He attained prominence with his 1999 film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam after the film became a box-office blockbuster. He's known to have an affinity towards writing strong women characters.
