Suits was certainly watched by a lot of people while it was on the air, running for nine seasons, surviving the departure of two of its lead actors, and even launching a shortlived spinoff. The legal drama is now experiencing a boom in renewed popularity, having recently broken viewership records on streaming. It's still not entirely clear what drove this renaissance: a yearning for snappy, bingable procedurals in the age of prestige drama, a lack of new content due to the WGA strike, or curiosity about Meghan Markle's last major acting role before marrying Prince Harry.

What we do know is that fans have been clamoring for a tenth season of the show over the last couple of months, citing those landmark streaming figures as proof that there is still an appetite for well-dressed, beautiful people tossing banter across a boardroom table.

And it looks like series creator Aaron Korsch has heard the fans loud and clear, with rumors that he is currently working on a brand new show set in the Suits universe.

In a recent Deadline story, Nellie Andreeva reported that Korsch and NBCUniversal are looking to expand the world of the original show, "in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location." She added that Los Angeles was a potential new setting for a new office and cast.

Suits executive producers David Bartis and Doug Liman are rumored to be lined up as showrunners for this new project, and NBCUniversal is supposedly making it a high priority—understandable, given the current spotlight on the original series.
