Enzo Amore has thanked fans after he was taken to hospital following a scary spot at an SWE show on Saturday night.

While wrestling has carried on for AEW and WWE, most other promotions have been on hiatus for large parts of the past 14 months. Indie shows are starting to return to the fold and on Saturday night, SWE ran a show in Texas. Former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore wrestled on that show but didn't get the chance to finish his match thanks to a very scary spot.

Enzo Taken To Hospital

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Amore took a DDT on the outside that resulted in him being knocked unconscious. Amore was taken out of the building on a stretcher and rushed to hospital. While he hasn't revealed exactly how he's doing, Amore has been active on Twitter since the incident.

Amore tweeted about Owen Hart since today marks 22 years since his tragic death, and followed up with another tweet thanking fans for their concern. Amore also suffered a scary injury during a title match at WWE Payback in 2016. The former Cruiserweight Champion hit his head hard on the ring apron when being thrown from the ring in what was a very scary moment. Thankfully Amore was okay on that occasion and hopefully is this time too.

WWE Release And Crashing ROH

Amore was released by WWE a little more than three years ago. Despite exploring other avenues, such as starting up a music career, he hasn't completely exited the wrestling sphere. He and Big Cass, who recently signed with Impact Wrestlingshowed up at Ring of Honor's G1 Supercard which wound up being a very noteworthy and rather controversial angle. Amore hasn't signed for a company since then but appears semi-regularly on indie shows.

As for Amore's future, and whether fans will ever see him back in WWE, that door is rarely closed forever, no matter who you are. Prior to his release, Amore was arguably shining a bigger spotlight than anyone on the Cruiserweight Title during the modern era and also closing Raw on a number of occasions. It's clear some backstage were fans of him, but there were also reports and rumors of him ruffling the feathers of others.
