Elvira Advertises WCW Halloween Havoc For Three Consecutive Years

Elvira is an extremely well known pop culture character. She starred in the film Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark and also hosted her own television show, Elvira’s Movie Macabre. She also made several cameo appearances in other programs. In 1989, she made her first appearance for WCW advertising Halloween Havoc. The choice to have Elvira in commercials for the show made sense, with the heavy horror inspiration in her character. In the first commercial, Elvira appeared on a couch, advertising the show to fans. It also featured clips of some of the company’s biggest names at the time, such as Sting, Ric Flair, and many more. At the end, a mummy appeared with her, as screeches and screams were heard in the background.

1990 saw her return to once again be involved in another advertisement for the October pay-per-view. This time, however, she did a variety of different television ads set around one story. One featured her alongside Sid Vicious. The ad featured Elvira turning on a switch, saying that this show was going to be “Shocking!” This then sent a shock to Sid Vicious in an ode to the classic Frankenstein story. There were a few different versions of this advertisement made, varying in lengths and dialogue, but keeping Elvira and Sid in them.
