Now that Sting is in AEW, the fantasy booking can be ramped up a notch, and even Chris Jericho is getting in on the fun.
Even though there were rumblings that Sting might show up in AEW after WWE stopped selling his merch, his Dynamite debut was still pretty special. Ever since The Icon shocked the wrestling world last Wednesday, fans have been trying to figure out what might be coming next. Sting will address that when he speaks on Dynamite this coming Wednesday.
It's still unclear what Sting's role in AEW actually is. All we know for sure right now is that he has signed a multi-year deal with the company and that fans really like his first AEW t-shirt. Despite his advanced age and the serious injury he suffered in his last match against Seth Rollins, he might be ready to wrestle again.

There will be a lot of wrestlers in AEW hoping that Sting does intend on competing against some of them. Wrestlers who grew up watching and even idolizing the Hall of Famer. Sting's staredown with Darby Allin alone had us throwing money at the screen. As for blockbuster opponents waiting for Sting if he steps back between the ropes, the biggest name of all has to be Chris Jericho.
Someone created a poster advertising a dream match between Sting and Jericho. The Painmaker version of Jericho is the persona included on the poster since it includes Le Champion wearing similar face paint to The Icon. Jericho has shared the poster but written nothing more than "hmmmm" in the caption that accompanies it. If Sting is going to wrestle, this match would potentially make big money for AEW.
Even though Jericho and Sting were in WCW together for a number of years, and then in WWE at the same time much later on, the two have never met in a match. In fairness, there has never been a time where it would have made sense for that to happen. At least not until now. Sting appears to have his sights set on Cody Rhodes in some way, whether it be as a friend or a foe, so if a Jericho dream match is going to happen, we may have to wait.
