Wrestling a match for over an hour isn't an easy situation for anybody, as telling that type of story is difficult. It's tough physically for wrestlers to compete for that long, but it is also hard for them to actually tell a story for that long without boring an audience as it isn't easy to keep people engaged.

While several wrestlers such as Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair have worked for over an hour before throughout their careers, which is something fans are aware of, so have many other talents. Even some wrestlers that fans might not be aware of have had a one-hour match throughout their careers.
10 Chris Hero (wXw Back To The Roots 3)
Chris Hero is a very talented professional wrestler, and while he wasn't always pushed in the way he deserved during his WWE career, that doesn't mean he can't put together a classic match.
Hero has worked around the world putting together brilliant encounters and in Germany, he did so for an hour. Hero went one on one with CM Punk in an Iron Man match which he ended up being victorious in.
9 Rey Mysterio (Royal Rumble, 2006)
A lot of wrestlers have lasted a long time in Royal Rumble matches, Rey Mysterio's individual performance in 2006 was very impressive. This was the year that Rey was able to win the match, but he had to last over an hour in order to do that.

Fans often remember Mysterio putting in a great effort, but forget that he actually had to compete for over an hour in order to earn his place at WrestleMania that year.
8 Chris Jericho (Royal Rumble, 2017)
Speaking of impressive Royal Rumble performances, Chris Jericho's 2017 efforts are also forgotten about at times. When it comes to a talent lasting over an hour in a Royal Rumble match, it is expected that they will go on to win it.
However, in 2017 Jericho was able to compete for over an hour inside the Rumble after entering second in the match. But despite his great efforts, Jericho actually came up short in the match.
7 Tyson Dux (PWX, 11/18/07)
Tyson Dux is somebody that wrestling fans might remember for having a brief run with WWE. However, because he wasn't exactly pushed heavily during his time in the spotlight, most people don't expect him to have had a match lasting over an hour.
However, that was something that he was able to achieve in 2007 when working for PWX. Dux went one on one with Derek Wylde at the event, and this wasn't the first time he lasted that long in the ring either.
6 Daniel Bryan (The Greatest Royal Rumble, 2018)
The events that take place in Saudi Arabia can be quite divisive, and because of that they're not always watched by everybody. On top of that, the Greatest Royal Rumble itself had very little in terms of prizes to make it memorable.

However, Daniel Bryan put in an amazing performance within that match. He lasted way over an hour and was left looking battered and bruised at the end of the match to showcase the war he had been through.
5 Seth Rollins (Raw, 2/19/18)
Long matches on Monday Night Raw are actually quite rare, but this particular gauntlet match ended up lasting almost two hours. It was fantastic to see and Seth Rollins put in a particularly strong effort.
Individually, he carried the bulk of the action and was involved in the encounter for over an hour. It was a very impressive performance, and while the match was great, it has sadly been forgotten about.
4 The Rock (Judgment Day, 2000)
While The Rock is often widely considered to be a top professional wrestler, his in-ring technical ability is something that is often not talked about. While he was a great personality, he was never put on the level of somebody like Bret Hart.
However, he showcased exactly how good he was at Judgment Day in 2000 when he competed for an hour against Triple H, with the two men putting on a great clash.
3 Christopher Daniels (ROH Crowning A Champion, 2002)
Ring Of Honor has played host to several lengthy matches, but what a lot of fans don't remember is the inaugural ROH World Title match was an hour-long. Competing for the title in a fatal-four-way, this match went the distance.

Christopher Daniels wasn't successful in this one, as it was actually Low Ki who won the title on the night. However, the fact that Daniels went for over an hour is something many new fans to his work won't know about.
2 Brock Lesnar (SmackDown, 9/18/03)
When people think about Brock Lesnar they typically presume his matches will be short and sweet. However, the Beast is a fantastic athlete and during his initial run with the company, he worked for an hour against Kurt Angle.
While Angle is someone that fans might expect to be able to cope that long in the ring, Lesnar more than held his own. This is one of the greatest matches in SmackDown history and the fact they held up the action for that long is a credit to them.
1 John Cena (Bragging Rights, 2009)
Fans are often quick to judge John Cena, claiming that he cannot wrestle. However, he has proven that to be false time after time, and that was never clearer than at Bragging Rights, 2009.
He and Randy Orton put together a great encounter which went on for an hour, with Cena really showcasing his in-ring ability throughout. He might not be the first person people think about for lengthy classics, but he certainly proved himself on this occasion.
