Cher blasts cancer rumours, Michael shuns Jackson 5 reunion

Rumours began swirling that the star had been diagnosed with cancer after she was forced to pull out of her Las Vegas show earlier this month.

The singer, 62, cancelled two performances at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace at the beginning of October. Her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, was quick to dispel rumours of an illness at that point, saying the star was merely suffering from "Vegas throat" - the nickname for a throat condition caused by the dry desert air.

But that didn't stop tongues wagging and speculation mounting that she had cancer.

Cher has now laughed off the inaccurate reports of a cancer scare conjured up by gossip-mongers.

She says, "My health is great but there's a

wind thing

that blows there (in Las Vegas) at different months and I have an allergy to it.

"If I had cancer everyone would know it. I wouldn't tell them, but somebody would. When you have those kind of things happen if you're famous you can't keep them a secret.

"(The reports) don't make me angry. People have been saying the weirdest things since I was a teenager."
