A lot of people will be wondering where Buddy Murphy ends up when he finally makes his return to wrestling, but it seems that the former 'Best Kept Secret' can't keep his mouth shut about where it might be.

Buddy Matthews, who was known as Buddy Murphy in AEW has teased an appearance on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This week's show is the second anniversary of Dynamite and to mark the occasion an exciting match has been booked. Several of AEW's best talents will compete in a Casino Ladder Match where the winner will get a shot at the AEW World Championship in a match against current holder Kenny Omega.

There are several confirmed entrants in the match already with Jon Moxley, PAC, Andrade El Idolo, Lance Archer, Orange Cassidy and Matt Hardy all vying to climb the ladder, but there is one spot remaining, the 'Joker'.

This is the spot that Matthews took to Twitter to tease, tweeting nothing but a picture of a joker playing card. It's an obvious and on-the-nose allusion to the match, and that empty match.

As usual, AEW is looking to make this week's Dynamite a must-watch event

Other matches on the card include The Elite (Omega, Adam Cole and The Young Bucks) taking on Bryan Danielson, Christian Cage and Jurassic Express and Hikaru Shida looking for her 50th win in AEW.

AEW Turn Down Chance To Sign Buddy Murphy

Don't get too excited though as it was recently reported by Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW has turned down the chance to sign some former WWE stars and Buddy Murphy was mentioned by name.

AEW has signed a number of notable former WWE stars recently, including Ruby Soho and Bryan Danielson but if that report is true, there may not be many more following them, and certainly not the former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion.

Buddy Murphy was released in June this year and changed his name to Buddy Matthews a while afterwards in August where he released a comeback teaser video.
