Followers of TLC's Sister Wives are very curious about what the patriarch, Kody Brown, actually does for a living to support his polygamous family.
Kody Brown of Sister Wives seems to be a jack of all trades, with loyal followers wondering what exactly he does to earn an income. The patriarch has been in the limelight for over ten years, but he was a simple husband of four before that. Now with a bit of fame under his belt, fans are questioning what he does to make a living.
The father of 18 has always been coy about his line of work. For years all viewers knew was that he once worked in marketing and advertising. Kody and Janelle Brown were the only two who really brought in a paycheck for the entire family to live off of. Thanks to her love of numbers, Janelle was very open with her job description as she worked in accounting. Both Kody and Janelle told the cameras that they kept their polygamous life on the down low in order not to lose their jobs. As the years went on, Kody seemed to drift in and out of work, but what does the husband of four currently do?
Even now, Kody seems to like to drift from job to job. Up until 2004, Kody was the president of Das Hundhaus Firearms and Accessories. He then saw the potential he could make through his TLC show, and in 2010, he founded Brown Family Entertainment, his very own production company. As the seasons continued to air, his jobs got lost in the mix, and Kody, who shouldn't be blamed for everything, never really offered up much information. Just recently, Kody was spotted at a gun show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The annual town gun show is a big deal for that neck of the woods since there are over 4,000 tables, and the show takes place on 11 acres. It would seem that Kody never left his original job as a firearms salesman.
Kody also has gone down the normal route of a reality TV star. The 53-year-old set up a Cameo late last year where he has been gifting videos to fans who are willing to pay. Kody currently charges $99 for a video that can be made for a company, customer, or employee. Kody doesn't currently take part in media interviews, so it is safe to say he only receives a paycheck from TLC. All in all, Kody seems to enjoy selling guns to put food on the table for his family.
The backlash against Kody's job was quick from fans. Most shared that they could not support him since gun control has become a major topic in the United States. Many Sister Wives viewers feel he probably enjoys his job because it makes him feel tough, unlike his job as a reality TV star. TLC has yet to announce a new season of the hit show, but Paedon Brown recently revealed that the cameras had started rolling and were catching family moments.
