While news of a health scare made rounds on Alexa Bliss this week, fans were glad to hear she was OK. Wednesday brought even more positive news, news that could explain part of the reason Alexa Bliss has been away from WWE programming of late. Bliss appeared on the extremely popular singing show The Masked Singer on Wednesday. She performed under the disguise of a character called Axolot and was revealed when she didn't make it out of the rounds of voting on Wednesday's show. Bliss sang the song "Can't Fight the Moonlight" which was originally recorded by LeAnn Rhimes and made popular by the film 'Coyote Ugly'. After she was revealed Bliss noted that she wanted to do the show because she had anxiety issues and wanted to tackle her fear of singing in front of an audience. Admitting that she's comfortable 'on stage' as a member of WWE, she told judges she cried backstage before coming out and signing because she was so nervous. She added that despite going home and being eliminated from the show, she was extremely proud of herself for doing this and offered some advice to fans. "Do one thing that scares you every day."
Does This Explain Bliss' Absence From WWE?
It's not clear exactly how much time Bliss took away from WWE to be on the show. While this could have been a one-off and not required a ton of prep time, it's also possible that this was something Bliss was working on during the last few weeks, which would explain part of why she's been away from WWE and disputing claims on social media that she was taking a hiatus. Obviously, as part of the secrecy of the show, she couldn't let fans in on what it was she was doing while away.
One thing is certain... Bliss can sing.
