WWE recently announced a major change for the upcoming return to Saudi Arabia as it is no longer going to be a King and Queen Of The Ring event and instead will see the return of Night Of Champions. This event guarantees that Roman Reigns will be part of the show, as it is a night where every title is defended.

This will likely be Reigns' next big encounter and WWE will want to get it spot on in terms of creating the next challenger for him. Because the Tribal Chief has faced a lot of the roster it is going to be a big decision about who steps up on this particular night.
10 Should Challenge: Finn Balor
Finn Balor might be a heel right now, but he is someone that audiences would be interested in seeing challenge Roman Reigns with his new persona. When he competed against Reigns in the past he was working as the Demon, while this time it would be as the leader of The Judgment Day.
He is a fresh star compared to when he last faced Reigns and considering the fact both men have two major factions there is a lot that can be achieved via outside interference and to create an engaging feud in the build-up.
9 Shouldn't Challenge: Bray Wyatt
The status of Bray Wyatt is very much up in the air right now, but considering the star power that he has and the mystery his character brings it could be very easy for WWE to throw him into the mix at the top level. However, that isn't the right decision to make at this time as his gimmick isn't getting over.

Fans simply don't want to see Wyatt in that position right now, and because his character has never done well with the championship he should be out of that scene.
8 Should Challenge: Riddle
Riddle is someone that has competed against Roman Reigns in the past, but he could be a great option to step up to the plate once again at Night Of Champions. Since his return to WWE, he has been feuding specifically against The Bloodline as it was Solo Sikoa who took him out of action in the storyline.
Because of that, it would be a natural segway to move Riddle into the top position to face Reigns. There is a clear storyline there for him and the heat exists for fans to get invested in which is ultimately what matters.
7 Shouldn't Challenge: Shinsuke Nakamura
Shinsuke Nakamura recently returned to television which was a welcome addition to the main roster once again, but that doesn't mean that he should be pushed to the World title scene just yet. Nakamura could certainly have an incredible match against Roman Reigns, but he simply wouldn't be believable in terms of winning.
It is unlikely this will be the event where Reigns' title run comes to an end anyway, but WWE needs to do a lot more work with the former NXT Champion before he is ready to be inserted into the main event scene once again.
6 Should Challenge: Sheamus
Surprisingly, Sheamus hasn't challenged Roman Reigns yet for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship considering how popular he has been as of late. The Celtic Warrior is providing some consistently brilliant performances as well and his physical style would work nicely against Roman Reigns.
This would be a fresh storyline for WWE to present, and there's no doubt that Sheamus has earned the opportunity to compete for the titles, and fans would buy into the idea of him winning which always helps.
5 Shouldn't Challenge: Omos
Omos is someone who WWE occasionally decides to throw into major opportunities that he doesn't necessarily deserve such as his WrestleMania 39 match against Brock Lesnar. It is easy for WWE to book him in those roles due to how big he is, and pushing him as a threat to Roman Reigns could make sense.

However, that doesn't mean that the company should do that. Omos isn't at the level where he should be competing against Reigns in a main event of a premium live event, and that alone should be the reason that WWE doesn't put him in that slot.
4 Should Challenge: Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley competing against Roman Reigns is something that fans want to see, especially if the company could possibly bring back The Hurt Business once again. Lashley is a main event player in WWE and someone who can easily be inserted into this slot as fans would buy into him straight away.
Reigns and Lashley would have a great hard-hitting match that would present a big fight feel, and that is what people are always looking for when it comes to the World title matches in the wrestling business.
3 Shouldn't Challenge: Gunther
Gunther is one of the most dominant performers in WWE and it feels inevitable that he will one day get his hands on the top titles in WWE. However, right now isn't that time because he is currently the Intercontinental Champion and that means he should be in his only title match at this premium live event.
Rather than throwing all of the titles into one match which would then become quite messy, it would make sense for WWE to hold off on this dream encounter and pull the trigger on Gunther's main event run at a later date.
2 Should Challenge: Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins has been one of the most popular performers in WWE for a while now, and he has been in a tough spot where it feels like WWE doesn't truly know what to do with him. The reactions he is getting would have typically led to a World title run by now had there been two separate belts, but because Roman Reigns is holding both he has missed out.

Considering how much fans care about him, Rollins would be a great person to feud with Reigns next to tap into that and their past as Shield members. They would be capable of a great match, and Rollins is certainly good enough to recover should he not end up winning.
1 Shouldn't Challenge: Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes remains one of the biggest stars on the WWE roster right now, and he is still the man that many fans think should dethrone Roman Reigns after he was cheated at WrestleMania 39. Rhodes is surely going to get another shot down the line, but it seems like WWE is taking time to get even more sympathy behind him.
With the American Nightmare focusing on Brock Lesnar it would make sense to hit pause on his title pursuits until a later date and a bigger show. SummerSlam is likely to be the next time Rhodes gets to challenge Reigns, therefore not pushing him this time would be a good call.
