Kane has had one of the most legendary careers in the history of not only the WWE but pro wrestling in general. Despite a couple of bad starts with some impressively awful gimmicks, Glen Jacobs finally found his path to glory when he put on the mask and was revealed by Paul Bearer as the Undertaker's long lost brother.

Once he walked out to the ring to help Shawn Michaels win the first Hell in a Cell match against the Deadman, Kane never looked back. The thing is, Glen was a pretty quiet guy backstage and he didn't really openly hate anyone. But when it comes to Kane, there's always a little heat. So from the WWF to the WWE, here are the 5 wrestling stars that Kane hated and 5 more he surprisingly loved.

10 HATED: The Hardy Boyz

Take this one with a grain of salt because it was a one time incident that happened decades ago. It's highly unlikely that there's any heat left on this one, but it's one of the few backstage Kane altercations people know about.

Back in their early WWF days when they were still managed by Michael Hayes, The Hardy Boyz won the tag team championships. Hayes then encouraged the relative rookies to sit in first class on the plane ride home. This caused the veteran Kane to get bumped to coach, a huge no-no in the strange world of backstage wrestler etiquette. Hayes took most of the heat since it was his idea but the Matt and Jeff still had to make amends. It's water under the bridge at this point.

9 LOVED: X-Pac

Trying to turn a heel built up as a malevolent force of destruction into a face is no easy task. WWF faced that problem with Kane. To combat this, they partnered him with Sean 'X-Pac' Walton, a move meant to soften his image. It was successful and the duo quickly became one of the most popular tag teams of the era.

Up until that partnership, Kane had not spoken a word on screen. Eventually, Road Dogg and X-Pac said, "We've got two words for 'ya" and Kane responded with a relatively healthy, "Suck it." Aw, Big Red Machine's first words!

8 HATED: Christian

Kane's relationship with Christian is more of a love/hate situation than it is anything like them hating one another. The two men are friends on some level but Christian just could not stop antagonizing Jacobs backstage. Sometimes, this extended to other public places like punches to the gut in airports. By the way, that's a literal example.

For Christian, this ongoing series of pranks seems to be related to recurring nightmares he used to have about Kane. But Glen Jacobs is a genuinely nice guy. He's also a mountain of a man who was reputedly the one guy Brock Lesnar couldn't beat in arm wrestling. Think about that before you dump any more water on him, Captain Charisma!

7 LOVED: Edge

Unlike his kayfabe brother, Christian, the relationship between Kane and Edge has been nothing but positive behind the scenes. After their iconic ladder and TLC matches with the Dudley Boys and the Hardy Boyz, Kane was extremely concerned about everyone involved.

Edge has said in the past that he counts Kane among his closest friends, and one has to imagine that the Kane feels the same way about the Rated R Superstar. They traveled the roads a lot together over the years so there is inevitably a deep bond formed between them.

6 HATED: Shawn Michaels

This isn't specific to Kane as most people hated Shawn Michaels in the '90s. He pissed everyone off with his backstage antics and selfish attitude. The Undertaker in particular had problems with Michaels during this era, particularly when it looked like he wasn't going to put 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin over for egoistic reasons.

Given how close Undertaker and Kane are, it's not hard to imagine that Kane shared those same feelings. But all of that being said, Michaels was a different man in his second run and started making friends of old enemies. That included the likes of Undertaker and Kane, who have since softened their once hardened opinions of the Heartbreak Kid.

5 LOVED: 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

Few men supported the Big Red Machine the way Austin did. He believed in Kane, and the man who played him, so much so that he willingly dropped his first championship to him. That being said, Austin reclaimed the belt from Kane 24 hours later but that's how wrestling works.

As a guest on Broken Skull Sessions with Austin, Kane even said that loss was one of the best moments of his career as the duo gave the people what they wanted. Austin isn't one to mince words and if he says Kane is a good guy, he's a good guy.

4 HATED: Triple H

Just like Michaels, this is a relationship that has evolved greatly over the years. While Kane would never say it openly, there was a time that he likely hated Triple H backstage. The Cerebral Assassin used to have a selfish "get what's mine" attitude that would not have sat well with Kane.

Keep in mind that Kane is a man who reputedly turned down several championship runs because he felt other wrestlers needed them more to get over. But as Triple H grew up and calmed down, a friendship was formed, as evidenced by the large amount of time they worked together on screen over the years.

3 LOVED: Daniel Bryan

Only The Undertaker cares about Kane more than Daniel Bryan does. Team Hell No was one of the best comedy duos in the history of WWE, not to mention one of the best tag teams ever. Both Bryan and Kane have been open about the fact that this storyline was one of the favorite in their entire careers due to how much fun they had with each other.

Given how long a career Kane has had, that's saying a lot. A friendship was formed in that run that few could replicate. These are two men who have each other's backs, both in and outside of the ring.

2 HATED: Issac Yankem

There is only one wrestler than Kane openly hates, and his name is Issac Yankem. That also happens to be one of Glen's previous gimmicks, widely recognized as one of the worst in wrestling history. Playing Jerry Lawler's terrible dentist (yes, really) just didn't suit Jacobs, in no small part to the crazy hair they gave him.

But Jacobs persevered and became the Big Red Machine. The rest, as they say, is history. Whenever Yankem comes up in interviews, Jacobs gets a look on his face like PTSD has set in. Apparently, his past life as a dentist is the only thing that scares Kane. Hey, we don't blame him. In fact, we feel the same!

1 LOVED: The Undertaker

The main reason Jacobs got the shot to become Kane was because The Undertaker recommended him for the gimmick. That was a good call, to say the least. Undertaker and Kane have been opponents as many times as they've been partners, and their matches almost always work. In real life, the two men went from being kayfabe brothers to being friends so close that they might as well be actual brothers.

Undertaker reputedly once offered Kane the opportunity to end his WrestleMania streak but Jacobs turned him down out of respect. That's too bad, since fans would have probably preferred it if Kane ended the legendary streak instead of Brock Lesnar.
