Unperturbed by the injury, Jimmy Butler serenaded his 10 million fans by crooning a song about “time” just days before Christmas.
Jimmy Butler serenades his fans
Jimmy Butler’s love for music is well-documented. The 6-time NBA All-Star is often seen humming his favorites at any chance he has. Similarly, two days before Christmas, he took to Instagram to delight his fans with Speedin’ by Omarion, a song that echoes the importance of time. His love for the song was evident as he swayed to the rhythm with his eyes shut and moved his hands expressively while humming along to the lyrics. He captioned his reel with a lyric from the song itself, “times moving fast but not fast enough.”
One fan expressed it eloquently, stating, “The evolution of time fleeting us until we realize it’s too late to remember those moments that left us feeling nostalgic. Always appreciate time it’s one of the most precious things in our lives.”
However, it is his love for country music that sets him apart. He fell in love with music in the fall of 2010, so much so that it has even inspired him to create his own music.
Jimmy Butler is working on his album
In 2022, during a conversation with Rolling Stone, Jimmy Butler revealed that he was in the studio working on an album of his own. At the time, he had already composed around 45 tracks; however, releasing the album always gets pushed back due to “this other job” (playing basketball) he has.
He also revealed the funny anecdote of how he first fell in love with country music. In short, it was out of spite. While studying at Marquette University, his fellow athletes would blast hip-hop songs in the locker room. Annoyed by the loud music, he decided to give them a taste of their own medicine. He downloaded Tim Mcgraw’s “Don’t Take the Girl” and played it loudly over and over again in the locker room. Before he knew it, country music had captured his heart.
