There have been several failed experiments in the professional wrestling world over the years, with promotions trying to find a niche in the market. One of the more unique cases came with Wrestling Society X, which took place on MTV.

The show featured live music, an undisclosed underground location, explosions, special effects, and more, making it probably like what a failed Lucha Underground may have looked like. It was a short-lived promotion, but that didn’t stop it from having an array of wrestlers on the roster. When looking back at WSX, it is certainly interesting to look at some of the more recognizable names they had working under the promotion, and where they are over fifteen years later.
10 Scorpio Sky
Back in 2006, WSX’s Scorpio Sky was a cocky heel with an array of academic and sporting awards, which he carried around on plaques with him to the ring. Sky was smooth inside the ropes and was a direct contrast to the grimy and chaotic nature of the rest of the promotion.
After several strong years around the wrestling world, he has found a new home in AEW, where he was one half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions, and the current reigning TNT Champion. He has been a mainstay in the company since day one and shows no signs of slowing down.
9 Jimmy Jacobs
Jimmy Jacobs was a laid back and uncaring member of the Doin’ It For Her tag team, which served to be a very popular act almost immediately in WSX. He would even earn a tag team title shot alongside partner, Tyler Black, before the company was ended.
Jacobs would work for the WWE creative team, before being fired and finding himself back on the independent scene, whilst also working in a backstage capacity for Impact Wrestling.
8 Tyler Black
Speaking of the D.I.F.H. tag team, Tyler Black was the explosive and intense partner of Jacobs, with the pair acting as polar opposites to one another. Black’s quality in the ring was clear to see all the way back then.
He is now Seth Rollins, and perhaps the most successful member of the WSX roster, winning several world titles in WWE, becoming one of the biggest names in the company. He has had countless classics and continues to be one of the main event talents on Monday Night Raw today.
7 6-Pac
More commonly known as “X-Pac”, 6-Pac was one of the more experienced members of the WSX roster, with him formerly being a member of both D-Generation X and NWO. He was on the losing end of the match which crowned the first WSX Champion.
After sporadically wrestling around the independent scene, he took a hiatus from the ring, starting his own podcast. In 2022, he made a return to the ring after three years, competing in GCW.
6 Justin Credible
Justin Credible is synonymous with the ECW brand, even winning the ECW World Championship at one point during his career. He fit in with much of the hardcore style of WSX, with him appearing in the company that made that style prominent in North America.

He has only wrestled sparingly over the last few years, last wrestling in late 2021 in ICW. He continues to do signings and special appearances for fans, and recently released an autobiography.
5 Jack Evans
Evans provided a high-flying style to WSX, with him standing out amongst the mayhem of the company. Evans competed in the first ever match in WSX history, coming out on top against his opponent.
He would go on to compete in companies such as PWG, AAA, and Lucha Underground, and most recently worked in AEW as part of the TH2 tag team. He recently left the country after his contract wasn’t renewed, returning to the independent circuit.
4 Matt Sydal
The other half of the first ever WSX match was Matt Sydal, who was an arrogant heel accompanied by his manager, Lizzy Valentine. Following his time in the company, he was quickly picked up by WWE, becoming Evan Bourne.
He was eventually released, before finding his feet on the independent scene once again in the likes of PWG, Impact, and ROH. He is now a member of AEW, after signing officially last November, previously competing under a freelance basis. He is an experienced veteran, helping to mentor younger names on the AEW roster.
3 Puma
With a flashy mask and an impressive style, Puma stood out in WSX as a highly stylish competitor. Under the mask was TJP, who also wrestled as Manik in TNA. He would also win the Cruiserweight Classic in WWE, becoming Cruiserweight Champion.
He now wrestles on the independent scene in companies such as CMLL, MLW, and occasionally appears in NJPW.
2 Matt Classic
This was a unique and creative gimmick in WSX, with Matt Classic being a masked performer who was lost in time, competing back in the 50s and under an old school style. It was a lot of fun, and when looking at the man under the mask, there is no wonder as to why it worked so well.

Colt Cabana was portraying this character, with him being one of the best comedic wrestlers in the entire business. After many years of success in several different promotions, he is now under the AEW banner as a member of the very popular faction, The Dark Order.
1 Vampiro
Wrestling legend Vampiro was the first ever WSX Champion, defeating 6-Pac to win the gold. He is most known for his work in WCW but has also competed around the world in the likes of All Japan, CMLL, and AAA.
Vampiro’s most recent work in the wrestling world came when he was a commentator on Lucha Underground, and he very occasionally wrestles in local Mexican independent companies.
