WCW's legacy is undeniable in the archives of professional wrestling. For a large part of their run in the 1990s they were clearly the second most important promotion in professional wrestling. Eric Bischoff even turned WCW into the top promotion in the world for a short period of time. Yet, by 2000, WCW was on the decline and would be purchased by WWE in 2001.

At the time of the WWE purchase, WCW had an inflated roster of talented professional wrestlers. WCW was infamous for recycling WWE wrestlers (Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Brutus Beefcake) on their roster instead of making new stars. This process occurred in WWE as well. WWE did a much better job of elevating former WCW talent (Steve Austin, Undertaker, Mankind, Goldust) on their roster. During WCW's run, the majority of their top talent would perform for WWE. Yet, some stars never made a WWE debut and that has left fans around the world wondering.

10 Vampiro

Vampiro

Vampiro introduced the gothic scene into WCW. Whether as a heel or a face, Vampiro would receive a strong reaction from the fans. His Dark Carnival faction would be one of the brightest (yet dark) gimmicks during WCW's final days. Vampiro was a highlight during his time in WCW.

During the purchase of WCW, Vampiro claims that he was injured and WWE had no reason to pick up his contract. Vampiro would perform in Mexico after the WCW acquisition and eventually make his way to TNA to battle Raven in a goth versus grunge feud. Vampiro would be the main booker and performer of the short-lived MTV wrestling show, Wrestling Society X in 2007. With a strong following, fans wonder why Vampiro never made it to WWE television.

9 Pamela Paulshock

PamelaPaulshock

Pamela Paulshock was a bodacious blonde bombshell that leaped off the television screen in the dying days of WCW. First as an nWo girl and a Scott Steiner freak, but really stood out as a backstage announcer. While Paulshock was clearly hired due to her appearance, she began developing into a very good backstage announcer under the mentorship of the late great Mean Gene Okerlund. Paulshock would also win a WCW Nitro bikini contest. With WWE bringing in inexperienced wrestlers like Torrie WIlson and Stacy Kiebler, Paulshock would have been a great hire as well. Pamela Paulshock's time in professional wrestling was way too short for fans to remember her.

8 Lash LeRoux

Lash LeRoux graduated from the WCW Power Plant and debuted on WCW's main roster in the summer of 1998. LeRoux and Guerrero joined the Misfits In Action as Corporal Cajun and Lieutenant Loco respectfully. Her greatest claim to fame was ripping off her tank top ala Hulk Hogan to reveal a bikini top. In the lewd world of WCW in 2000 her sex appeal was played up heavily. Gunns would also turn heel on her Misfits in Action and join the heel faction Team Canada. As a heel, Gunns would be featured in a feud with Lance Storm against The Cat and his valet, Miss Jones. After WCW closed, Gunns would join Xtreme Pro Wrestling as Sandman's valet. She would then join the adult entertainment world and never appear on WWE television.

3 Nikita Koloff

Nikita Koloff is the unique entry on this list that didn't compete in the dying days of WCW. The Russian Nightmare would debut as the evil foreign heel in the mid 1980's. Koloff's gimmick would lead him to be the natural opponent to the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Yet, while political reform was changing in Russia, Koloff would become a face and ally of Rhodes. Koloff, Rhodes, and the Road Warriors would have the feud of the year against the Four Horsemen in 1987. Nikita Koloff would wrestle in WCW until 1992 and be inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame in 2008. Yet the "Russian" superman never appeared in WWE.

In the last days of WCW, Stevie Ray showed great promise as a color commentator. With his size and his charisma, Stevie Ray seemed custom fit for a career in WWE.

1 Great Muta

The Great Muta

The Great Muta is an absolute living legend. Currently, his career is winding down in Japan, but the icon never competed in a WWE ring. Muta would have multiple stints in WCW. In his first stint he would defeat the WCW franchise, Sting, for the Television title. In his last stint, he would join the Dark Carnival and win the WCW World Tag Team titles with Vampiro. Muta developed a cult following around the world and remains legendary in the United States. The Great Muta would have been a major acquisition to WWE at any point in his career. Fans wills always wonder what Muta's ceiling could have been in WWE.
