The Ron Weasley star is notoriously quiet about his life so even major Harry Potter fans might not know a lot about Rupert Grint.

One-third of the Golden Trio of Harry Potter, Rupert Grint has been making news with his new role in Apple TV Plus's Servantand his sudden increase in net worth to a whopping £23.5 million recently. Between himself, Emma Watson, and Daniel Radcliffe, he continues to be the most reclusive star who likes staying low-key, so there is little known about him.

At the same time, Grint continues to have his own fanbase. Since his life is so under wraps, even die-hard fans have to scope out information about the Ron Weasley star. He's been known to do many eccentric things, but there's a lot more that people don't know about!

Rupert Has A Daughter Named After Wednesday Addams

It may be hard to believe for many fans, but Harry Potter has been around for 20 years, and the cast has really grown up, including Grint. He now has a daughter with actress Georgia Isobel Groome, whose name is, adorably, Wednesday G. Grint.

In this clip of The Tonight Show, he revealed that his daughter's name, who is now almost two years old, was inspired by none other than the iconic Wednesday Addams, and her middle initial was kept because he liked how Samuel L. Jackson and Michael J. Fox sounded.

He Broke A Guinness World Record In 2020

Not only did Rupert Grint ace his role as Ron Weasley, but also broke a world record in 2020. The private actor finally appeared on Instagram with a picture of his lovely daughter, garnering the fastest million followers on the image-sharing social media site in just 241 minutes.

Grint broke the record, which was held by David Attenborough at first. Even his co-stars from Potter, like Tom Felton, responded with welcoming comments for him and his daughter.

He Rapped His Potter Audition

Young Rupert Grint made the life-changing decision of auditioning for Harry Potter after he watched Newsround at 11 years old. Funnily enough, his audition was a unique one and like no other.

It's clear that Ron Weasley was known for his weird decisions, and his actor, too, made the amazing and absurd choice to rap about why he would be perfect for the role. Needless to say, the unconventional move worked and Rupert Grint got the part he was destined for.

Alan Rickman Forbade Him From Coming Within 5 Meters Of His Car

The sets of Harry Potter were rife with all sorts of pranks, and while Severus Snape was known for not following his own advice, Alan Rickman was wiser than his character. While filming the fourth movie, Rupert Grint and Matthew Lewis managed to dump an entire milkshake in Rickman's car.

After this, Rickman got a new ride — and some new rules. Grint was not allowed within 5 meters of his new BMW for fear of a repetition of the milkshake incident. A good move!

He Owned An Ice Cream Truck And A Hovercraft

About money, Grint said, "But yeah it gradually became too much, too young. I just didn’t know what to do with it. It was quite overwhelming.” This was probably why his first few purchases were a little eccentric, namely an ice-cream truck and a hovercraft which was really difficult to pilot.

He always wanted to be an ice-cream man, so his first car became the truck he bought with his early fortune, and the hovercraft turned out to be his last.

He Currently Does Music Videos, Theater And TV

Grint was the pickiest and the most reclusive of the three big Potter stars, and appeared in few projects after the series came to an end. His first acting outing was in the video of "Lego House" by Ed Sheeran where he played Sheeran's stalker.

More recently, he has found his ground in TV, appearing in Apple TV Plus's Servant and Netflix's Sick Note. Theatre and movies have also figured into his repertoire.

He Once Starred In A Film That Made Just $704 At The Box Office

This fact is very little known, but in 2012, Rupert Grint starred in a movie called Into the White. The film was about a group of World War II soldiers who found sanctuary in Norway, and critics actually liked it.

Unfortunately, the movie got an extremely limited release in theatres, which was why it got a dismal Box Office profit. It was minuscule — a small $704 worldwide — which is a shocking amount for someone who starred in multi-million dollar earning movies previously.

He Embodied Ron With His On-Set Homework

The actors were really growing up during the filming of Prisoner of Azkaban, and director Alfonso Cuarón was handing out assignments to the trio to really help them get in character. They each had to write an essay about the characters they played, and it worked like a dream.

The other two turned in their respective essays, but Rupert Grint just never did his homework. “It’s quite Ron-ish not to do it. I think [Cuarón] kind of appreciated that,” he said.

He Almost Quit Potter

During the Reunion special on HBO Max, Rupert surprisingly revealed that, along with Emma Watson, he too had considered leaving the franchise. The two had not discussed it before, but it turned out that they were both feeling the same way.

The pressures of fame and fortune at a young age can be pervasive, and seeing how private and different Rupert is from usual celebrities, this makes sense.

Rupert Refuses To Watch Harry Potter Films

Many actors don't like revisiting their work, but even an iconic franchise like Harry Potter has actors who won't watch the movies. Rupert Grint happens to be one of them. He revealed that he wanted to move past the series and the buzz that came with it, so he only watched the first movie on Christmas 2018.

In an interview, he said, "I don’t think I’ll be doing a marathon any time soon," when asked about watching the rest.
