Professional wrestling is a sport that constantly changes, and because of that those who are in the game have to be ready to adapt and prove themselves consistently. While those who reach the main event level are normally able to maintain that spot, the great thing about WWE is that someone is always ready to push them for that spot.

The only way other wrestlers can earn a place at the top of the card is by consistently improving, and that is something that fans have seen from many talents this year. While anybody working for WWE should be at a high standard, even those wrestlers can develop, which several have in 2022.

10 Logan Paul

Nobody knew what to expect from Logan Paul when he joined WWE as celebrity performances in wrestling can be hit or miss. However, the YouTube shocked everyone with how talented he was in his first match, and since then his subsequent performances have only seen him improve.

While he's only had three matches it is hard to claim he's made more strides forward than others in the locker room, but there's no denying he's made some big steps in a short space of time. His Crown Jewel match against Roman Reigns was a sign of how talented he is and what fans can expect moving forward.

9 Austin Theory

Austin Theory had a big year in 2022, from starting as Vince McMahon's protege to completely changing his gimmick and becoming far more serious, he has shown a lot of layers to himself. While there have been some tough spots for him, such as his failed Money in the Bank cash-in, his work overall has improved.

Theory's recent character switch has been crucial for him and is something that he can genuinely build on to become an even bigger star. Inside the ring, his performances have stepped up as well, and if he continues on this trajectory he is set for a special career.

8 Dominik Mysterio

At points in 2022, Dominik Mysterio received a lot of criticism for not improving, with a lot of fans claiming he wasn't at the main roster level. It was hard to deny that at certain points in the year, but since turning heel and joining The Judgment Day his improvements have been clear to see.

Mysterio has relaxed inside the ring, and being in lots of tag team matches has helped him refine the smaller details. But is his character ability that has come on leaps and bounds, with Mysterio doing a great job at being an annoying heel who can easily get heat.

7 Matt Riddle

Throughout Matt Riddle's WWE career before this year he was often treated as a goofball, and while he would compete seriously in the ring he was mainly used in comedic situations. However, the random partnership with Randy Orton proved to be ideal for him and there's no doubt he learned during that time.

Riddle still brings a lot of humor, but he is now a much more serious talent and the matches he has put on have been incredible. That side of him kicked onto the next level again when feuding against Seth Rollins which showcased he has main event qualities.

It has been clear from the moment Cora Jade debuted in WWE that she is a special talent who can be something special in the industry. However, when she turned heel in NXT her work has gone to a new level both inside the ring due to her increased aggression, and with her promo work.

Jade is now someone that fans are very excited about when it comes to the future, and she is somebody that most people would buy into as a future champion, whether that be in NXT or the main roster.

5 Solo Sikoa

Solo Sikoa has had a whirlwind 2022, going from being a member of the NXT locker room to being one of the top stars on the main roster in The Bloodline faction. However, along that journey, he has made incredible improvements in a very short space of time, particularly since moving to SmackDown.

Alongside his family, Sikoa has not looked out of place once, which is a credit to his skills and hard work. He has done everything possible to make sure he works in that group, whether that be his facial expressions or his performances inside the ring.

4 Omos

Omos

Omos is not the most exciting in-ring wrestler because his overall style is a lot slower than most because of his size, but that doesn't mean he hasn't improved. From working with AJ Styles to being paired with MVP, Omos has developed a lot, particularly with the smaller details.

His facial mannerisms and reactions to things that happen around him are fantastic, and his work against both Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman were examples of how far he has come as a performer.

3 Chad Gable

Chad Gable has always been an incredibly charismatic wrestler, but in 2022 he has been given the key to unlock that side of him. Whether it is putting on great matches inside the ring or making people laugh with his promo skills, Gable has done it all.

His work throughout the year has been a joy to watch, and that has allowed him to have a fantastic year with the company. If he can continue in this way there's no doubt that even bigger things will be on the horizon for him.

Liv Morgan has had the greatest year of her career in 2022 which saw her climb to the top of the industry by winning the SmackDown Women's Championship. Her run with the title may not have been as long as fans wanted, but Morgan did her best with that time and showed the type of performer she is.

On the microphone she has stepped up, developing a specific character that fans can get behind. On top of that, inside the ring, her performances have been much better and it has helped create a brand new star for the division, which WWE is always looking for.

1 Mandy Rose

Out of everybody in WWE, it is Mandy Rose who has made the most improvements, and anybody who has seen her work in NXT will be aware of that. She was always a good wrestler, but she has kicked on and refined her skills which deserves a lot of credit, as Rose is now ready for the main roster.

Her character work as the Toxic Attraction leader has been brilliant to see, and the fact she has competed against a variety of opponents and in-ring skills showcases what a varied performer she has become. Rose has caught the eye of many, and that's purely down to her efforts.
