The McMahon family has been a huge part of WWE storylines on television for almost twenty-five years now. Vince was the first to get over as a heel when moving from the commentary team to a feud with Steve Austin. The success of Vince led to him getting his children Shane and Stephanie involved as part of the family business.

All three had their fair share of matches to pay off the storylines and feuds they built as characters. The memorable matches for them are the big ones to still get discussed today, like Vince facing Steve Austin in a cage match or Shane having a street fight with Kurt Angle. Each of the following bouts were the forgotten ones to feature a McMahon relative.

10 Vince McMahon Vs CM Punk (Raw)

One of the final in-ring moments of Vince McMahon’s career saw him getting physical with CM Punk. The heel run of Punk with Paul Heyman as his manager led to Vince wanting to challenge him after being disrespected by the controversial wrestler.

Punk and McMahon used weapons in the match on Raw that eventually ended in a no contest. Ryback made the save for Vince before the match ended to continue their feud. John Cena also got involved as part of the build for the triple threat match with Punk and Ryback.

9 Shane McMahon Vs Rikishi (Raw)

An unlikely match in WWE featured Shane McMahon facing off with Rikishi in a King of the Ring qualifier match in 2000. Rikishi won the match when Triple H interfered to help Shane when they were aligned in the McMahon Helmsley faction.

The win allowed Rikishi to enter the King of the Ring tournament, where he fell short to Kurt Angle in the finals. Shane and Triple H delivering a post-match attack on Rikishi allowed them to keep the heat without beating the emerging top face.

8 Stephanie McMahon & Test Vs Jeff Jarrett & Debra (Raw)

WWE introduced Stephanie McMahon with a relationship storyline dating Test throughout the summer and fall of 1999. The first match of Stephanie saw her forced to take part in a mixed tag match teaming with Test against Jeff Jarrett and Debra.

Test got the better of Jarrett and hit his finishing moves to take control. The tag in for Stephanie allowed her to pin Jarrett for their victory without getting put in harm’s way. Stephanie wasn’t trained to take bumps at the time, so the finish was fitting.

7 Vince & Shane McMahon Vs The Dudley Boyz - Tables Match (Raw)

The popularity of the Dudley Boyz using tables as their weapon of choice led to them facing the father and son McMahon duo using that as part of the story. Vince and Shane were forced into a tables match against Bubba Ray and D-Von on Raw.

X-Pac, Road Dogg and Tori interfering as members of D-Generation X saved Shane and Vince before they were put through the tables. The feud between DX and the Dudley Boyz saw Tori hitting splashes on the Dudley Boyz through tables to give Vince and Shane the victory.

6 Stephanie McMahon Vs Lita (Raw)

The heel run of Stephanie McMahon in 2000 saw her becoming one of the most hated villains on the show. Stephanie cheating to beat Jacqueline for the Women’s Championship saw her ducking out of title defenses through shady means.

Lita finally received a fair shot against Stephanie with The Rock as the special guest referee. The big moment of Lita defeating Stephanie for her first Women’s Championship reign led to her star power taking off as a major face for WWE.

5 Vince McMahon Vs Zach Gowen (Vengeance 2003)

Vince McMahon became a top heel on the SmackDown brand in 2003 during his feuds with Hulk Hogan and Stephanie McMahon. Hogan leaving the company due to contract disagreements led to one-legged wrestler Zach Gowen taking his place in a big match.

Vengeance 2003 saw McMahon facing Gowen in a match designed to give the boss more heel heat. Vince scored the victory and continued to be the most hated man in WWE. Gowen’s story provided sympathy, but he couldn’t beat McMahon on PPV.

4 Shane McMahon Vs Eric Bischoff (SummerSlam 2003)

Shane McMahon returned to WWE after a short break in 2003 to confront Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff. A strange segment of Bischoff breaking into Linda McMahon’s home and forcing a kiss on her led to Shane coming back to avenge his mother.

WWE booked the Shane vs Bischoff bout for SummerSlam 2003 as an attraction. The strange moment of Jonathan Coachman turning heel to help Bischoff is often forgotten as such a random turn. Shane still prevailed to defeat Bischoff and move into a bigger feud against Kane.

3 Stephanie McMahon Vs Triple H Vs Chris Jericho (Raw)

The breakup between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon became a huge part of the WrestleMania 18 feud of Triple H challenging Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship. Triple H winning the main event led to an interesting rematch on Raw.

Stephanie was added to the match to make it a triple threat where she could have become WWE Champion with a victory. WWE did crazier things at the time, but Triple H scored the win to get past both of his enemies.

2 Vince McMahon Vs Ken Shamrock - Lion's Den Match (Raw)

Few fans have any memory of Vince McMahon taking part in the Lion’s Den match against Ken Shamrock of all people. McMahon was forced to get locked into a cage set-up with one of the most intimidating talents on the roster.

Jeff Jarrett however saved Vince in story by delivering a guitar shot to Shamrock before he entered the structure. McMahon rushed to pin the unconscious Shamrock to steal the victory in a true cowardly fashion and added to his heel heat in the Attitude Era.

The rivalry between The Rock and Triple H in 2000 saw the McMahon family attempting to stack the odds in Triple H’s favor. WWE’s United Kingdom PPV Insurrextion 2000 featured Shane McMahon added to a match with Triple H and Rock to make it a triple threat for the WWE Championship.

Triple H and Shane attempted to use the numbers advantage to steal the title, but it didn’t work. Not even Vince and Stephanie McMahon getting involved could save the day for the heels. Rock defeated both enemies to retain the WWE Championship in a fun bout.
